Otternes Bygdetun
Otternes Bygdetun is a remarkably preserved cluster farmstead perched on a hillside above the Aurlandsfjord in Western Norway, between the fjord villages of Flåm and Aurland. With 27 timber buildings dating from the 1700s, it is one of the last and best-preserved examples of the klyngjetun (cluster farm) that once characterized rural Vestland life. Formally protected by Norway's National Heritage Board and part of the Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park, Otternes offers visitors an intimate encounter with centuries of Norwegian farming tradition — complete with craft demonstrations, a summer café, and sweeping views over one of Norway's most dramatic fjord landscapes.
