Veterný Vrch
Veterný vrch (Windy Peak) rises to 1,111 metres as the highest point of its subunit within the Spišská Magura range in northern Spiš, Slovakia. Though modest in absolute height compared to the nearby Tatras, this flysch mountain delivers what is widely called the finest panoramic view in the entire surrounding region — a sweeping circle taking in the High Tatras, Belianske Tatras, Pieniny, Levočské vrchy, Ľubovňa Highlands and even Polish hilltops on clear days. The summit sits on a cleared ridge shoulder where local residents installed a whimsical carved wooden bear bench holding the Slovak flag, along with a brass compass rose naming every visible peak. A sealed summit book nearby offers maps, historical aerial photographs and visitor accounts — making this one of the most characterful minor summits in Slovakia.
