Rajåstjärn
Rajåstjärn (in Swedish also written Rajåstjärnen) is a small mountain tarn lying just outside the little mountain village of Storsjö Kapell, high in the Ljungan river valley in western Härjedalen. At around 590 metres above sea level and barely five hectares in size, it is the kind of quiet, low-key natural spot that locals simply walk to for a moment of stillness — one visitor sums it up as "a small, lovely tarn near the village." It is not a developed sight with ticket booths or information boards, and that is precisely the point: the appeal of Rajåstjärn is the calm of an upland forest lake, set within one of Jämtland's biggest and best-kept wilderness areas. Most people encounter it as part of a stay in Storsjö — a base for hiking, fishing, canoeing and slow nature time on the edge of the Ljungdalsfjällen mountains.
