AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Anse Bigorno is a small, tranquil beach on Eden Island, the marina-linked residential development just across the harbor from Victoria, Mahé's compact capital. As one of four artificial beaches in the complex, it offers a pocket of calm water and fine sand right at the doorstep of residents and hotel guests — a convenient seaside escape without leaving the capital area.↗↗↗
A Quiet Corner of Eden Island
Eden Island is a purpose-built marina community connected to Mahé by a short causeway, and Anse Bigorno is one of its shoreline beaches, nestled just north of Anse Bernik along the outer coast. The beach faces open water, giving it a breezy, unhurried atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the bustle of Victoria's markets and bus stations only a couple of kilometers away.↗↗
Visitors who reach it describe soft, sandy shores lined with sun loungers and shaded by planted greenery. The sea here is warm year-round — comfortably above 27 °C — and the shallow entry makes it welcoming for a relaxed paddle or an early-morning swim before the day's trade winds pick up.
