AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Cedarock Park is a 500-acre Alamance County nature park in southern Burlington, North Carolina, where a restored 19th-century farmstead, a network of woodland trails, multiple disc golf courses and a scenic waterfall over an old mill dam sit side by side along Rock Creek. Set up in 1975 on the historic farm of John and Polly Garrett, it draws more than 180,000 visitors a year and offers something for nearly every kind of outdoor day, from easy strolls and paddling to primitive camping and farmyard animals.↗
The park's great strength is variety in one place: you can hike the creekside trails in the morning, wander the living-history farm with its heritage animals, toss discs on an 18-hole course, rent a canoe for Rock Creek, and end the afternoon at a picnic shelter or the fishing pond. For families, the playground, open fields and kid-friendly hikes make it a reliable outing, while hikers, equestrians and campers treat it as a low-effort escape between the Triad and the Triangle.↗
