AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Oak Hill Conservation Land is a 220-acre wooded hill in Littleton, Massachusetts, where roughly seven miles of marked trails wind through oak and hemlock woodland to two quietly dramatic features: a cliff-top lookout that can reveal the Boston skyline on a clear day, and a steep-walled glacial ravine called Tophet Chasm. Owned by the town and stewarded by the Littleton Conservation Trust, it is a favorite local escape for hiking, birding, snowshoeing and trail running.↗↗
The appeal here is range in a small footprint. A gentle 3.5-mile loop of the Summit and Boundary trails reaches both the chasm and the overlook in about an hour and a half, while shorter spurs and connecting orange-marked links let you tailor a quick walk or a longer circuit. It sits just half a mile from the Route 2 and I-495 junction, making it an easy nature stop near Littleton Depot.↗↗
