AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Pensacola Beach stretches along the Gulf-facing shore of Santa Rosa Island, a narrow barrier island off Florida's Panhandle. Its sugar-white quartz sand and emerald-green water have earned it a regular place among the top beaches in the United States on TripAdvisor and USA Today rankings.↗↗↗
The spot at 41 Fort Pickens Road marks the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier area — sometimes called Casino Beach — one of the most popular stretches on the island's roughly eight-mile Gulf shoreline. Here you'll find a lively boardwalk with shops and restaurants, free parking, lifeguard stations, volleyball courts, picnic tables, and a playground, making it a go-to destination for families and casual beachgoers alike.↗↗
The Pier and the Boardwalk
The Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier is the anchor attraction at this end of the island. Stretching nearly 1,500 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, it's a place where anglers cast lines at dawn while non-fishers stroll the weathered boards for the views. Schools of fish, rays, and the occasional dolphin glide beneath the pilings, and the vantage point at the end is one of the best on the whole island for watching the sky change color at sunset.
