AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Magic City Park is Tashkent's answer to a theme park: a 21-hectare, all-season fantasy town of colourful buildings, a 60-metre fairytale castle and themed streets modelled on Paris, Barcelona, London and Rome, opened in 2021 and billed as the largest entertainment complex of its kind in Central Asia. Unlike most regional attractions, you walk in for free and pay only for the rides, shows and meals you choose.↗↗↗
Set on Babur Street near the Alisher Navoi park, it is aimed squarely at families and casual evening strollers rather than hard-core thrill-seekers. By day it is a calm, almost empty promenade for photos and ice cream; after sunset the illuminated castle, dancing fountains and crowds bring it fully to life.↗↗↗
A Walk Through a Fairytale Town
The park is laid out as a whimsical miniature city, with bridges, fountains, tulip-lined lakes and pastel facades that make it look like stepping into a cartoon. Its centerpiece is a tall fairytale castle whose 60-metre tower forms the grand entrance and whose lighting shifts through colours after dark. Themed quarters borrow the architecture of famous European capitals, so a single stroll can carry you past Parisian-style cafes, a Barcelona corner and a Roman Colosseum-inspired amphitheatre. Visitors consistently rank the atmosphere and photo opportunities as the park's biggest draw, and there are dedicated Instagram-worthy spots at every turn.
