Google· a year agoYou are surrounded by dining options on Macrossan Street. For a quick bite, try Cafe Fresq or Cafe Zeva for breakfast and lunch, or N17 Burger Co for burgers. For dinner, Salsa Bar & Grill, Melaleuca, Rattle N Hum, Nautilus, Watergate, Zinc, Wrasse and Roe, Iron Bar, La Cucina, and Star of Siam are all within a short walk. The marina, a 10-minute walk away, also has restaurants and cafes. With this variety, you can easily find a different spot each night.
You are right in the heart of Port Douglas, on the main street, with shops, cafes, and restaurants all around. The Coles supermarket is next door, and the marina, where reef tours leave, is a short walk away. Four Mile Beach is about a 9-minute walk, and Trinity Bay Lookout is 6 minutes away. The area is quiet despite being central, as the apartments are set back from the street. Everything you need for a beach and reef holiday is within easy walking distance.
Macrossan House offers its own private transfer service from Cairns Airport or the Cairns train station, and can also book a share shuttle. Tour operators pick up directly from the reception, so if you are arriving with a tour, that is an easy option. The hotel is in the centre of Port Douglas, so once you are in town, everything is within walking distance. For a direct trip, a pre-booked transfer or taxi from the airport is the simplest way to reach the apartments.
In the evening, Macrossan Street is the place to be, with many restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. You can enjoy dinner at Salsa Bar & Grill, N17 Burger Co, or Rattle N Hum, all within a short walk. For a relaxed drink, Iron Bar is a good spot. After dinner, a stroll to Trinity Bay Lookout, just a 6-minute walk away, is a lovely way to end the day. The marina, about a 10-minute walk, is also pleasant for an evening wander.
Macrossan House is an excellent base for exploring Port Douglas. You are right in the village centre, with ABC Reef Safaris a 2-minute walk away and Wavelength Reef Cruises 3 minutes away, so reef trips are easy. Trinity Bay Lookout is a 6-minute walk and 4 Mile Beach Lookout a 9-minute walk, perfect for a quick stroll. For further sights, Wildlife Habitat is 4.9 km away, Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre 12.3 km, and Mossman Gorge 13.6 km, so you will need a car or a tour for those. Most tour operators pick up directly from the hotel, which makes day trips to the reef and rainforest simple. Everything in town is within walking distance, so you can explore on foot.
