Ya'll cant appreciate value over service. This hotel got a very nice breakfast buffet all fresh and easy for self service! Fast staff service. Room is very nice for its price. 2 king beds for us family. we will definitely stay here again. And again 😁 highly recommended. Near town and still quiet.

I had a wonderful stay at Sudima Rotorua. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and in a great location, making it easy to explore Rotorua and enjoy everything the area has to offer. The room was cosy and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I really appreciated the convenience of the hotel and how comfortable it was to come back and relax after a full day of exploring. Overall, I had a great experience at Sudima Rotorua and would happily stay here again on my next visit to Rotorua. Highly recommended! ❤️

We checked in on Saturday 22nd August had never been to this hotel before. We were so impressed with the staff on arrival super friendly and it wasn’t hard to check in at all. Beautiful location with great views and so central to everything. We were given a map of the location of the room which was super easy to find and loads of parking. First night and woke up we decided to relax in our room for the morning we had a respectful knock from the housekeeping team asking if we wanted our room to be tidied up we kindly said no and they were so friendly and asked if we needed anything we ended up just getting fresh towels. The facility was super quiet and we never got disturbed at all I think our room was the loudest with our kiddies 😂we loved the facilities our kids loved the swimming pool which was heated also. We checked out this morning and it was no stress at all handed the cards back to the team and asked if we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend Sudima to anyone that is looking for a great place to stay super affordable, family oriented and so worth it well done Sudima Hotels!!!

The hotel was an overall decent stay with a great location and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was smooth throughout the stay. The room itself was reasonably clean and comfortable, but I did notice quite a lot of small flying insects on the hallway walls and glass, which wasn’t very pleasant and made the public areas feel less well maintained. Overall, the environment and service were very good, but the insect issue in the corridors affected the overall impression.

While in a great location beside the lake, this hotel provides the bare minimum. The rooms are small and the bathroom tiny and cleanliness not the best. There was a balcony which would have been nice to sit on, but there were no chairs on any of the balconies. The pool was very small with no umbrellas and minimal seating area. It’s a huge hotel but sadly in need of updating.

I am disappointed with my recent experience staying in this hotel during the easter weekend. As soon as we entered the first room, we saw what appeared to be mosquitoes, which shocked us. But later we realised these were some sort of lake flies. They were all over the ceiling. And the bathroom smelled like piss. So it was a terrible start. Not to mention there were not elevators to get to the room. So I called the reception and they sent someone to confirm the issues. We were then shown another room and moved to that. Had to carry the luggage down the stairs and up again at a different block. So not a pleasant experience at all. Then found out the Wifi signal was terrible in the room. The hotel was fully booked so there was no other option anymore. We had to come down to the hotel lobby for Wifi. We lost a lot of time with the transfer of the room and the back and forth. We were already quiet tired from our tour. I personally wouldn't have booked this hotel, but unfortunately my tour agent booked it. The hotel staff itself were ok to deal with since they atleast changed the room initially after checking it. But they need to improve on the bathroom cleaning, as it shouldnt be smelling of piss on top of the Sulphur smell. I personally would not recommend this hotel to anyone, there are better options out there for that price. The only good thing might be that there is a lake in front of you with a good view. And the staff were nice. But other than that the rooms itself and facilities like the wifi were not good.

Edit #2 - good of them to give us complimentary breakfast, possibly refunding the room although I don’t know if that’s 100% - a good story for the books. I’ll step up 2 stars. EDIT: 3:30am IM SLEEPING AND SOME RANDOM DRUNK WOMAN WALKS INTO MY ROOM (no idea how) SHE MAKES A RUCKUS, NOW SHES LITERALLY PASSED OUT ON THE TOILET…. UNBELIEVABLE. REST OF MY REVIEW: NO WIFI?! + My tv is set to French with no option to change language. (It’s blacked out) It’s 2026.. get wifi working please.. Am writing this review on my second night of this hellish experience. Yeah the rooms are whatever, bathroom a bit manky but honestly no working wifi is atrocious. Tv is somehow connected to the internet but I can’t pickup the wifi in room 250 TV’s connection is tragic. Videos play for five seconds and pause for 2 minutes before playing another 5 seconds… Room doesn’t have a rubbish bin either. Which I find insane. Heat pump is on the fritz. Doesn’t pump warm air until it’s been on for a good half hour. Shower heads, yikes. More like a 3 star motel. $38 for buffet breakfast? No thanks. Should be included at this price. See all of this I could deal with if the wifi actually worked. Get wifi sorted for real.

Amazing staff and clean nice rooms. The Sulfur smell was hardly noticeable. The pool is heated too swimming at night under the moon was really cool! The only downfall is the beds are super hard and probably the price of the food in the hotel restaurant is pricey but other than that really great place!
