This hotel is on the quiet side of the town, close to the river; yet within walking distance to all the shops and transportation. I booked this hotel because of its shared kitchen and living space. As my train was at 6pm, the hotel let us to rest at the living area after checking out, until before 7pm that evening, though we had left around 5pm. The room is neat and clean, sufficient for a night' stay. The breakfast was great, the bread, the porridge and the coffee etc are all good.

A very nice experience in a welcoming and comfortable place, I sleeped very well in a shared room very spacious with plug to the bed, lockers with combination, in the same floor it was present a kitchen with all equipment for making food, a spacing relax for reading a book or watching tv and bathrooms with shower very clean. The hostel it's located in the center of Rovaniemi, near to all service and the bus station is very close and reachable about ten minutes away. All the staff it was very kindly and friendly and they let me leave my suitcase for free after checkout. I hope to return to Rovaniemi soon and a bsolutely stay here again!

We stayed here for 5 nights in January. We had booked a private room with an attached bathroom. I am so happy that we booked and stayed, the room was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The opportunity to use the kitchen to cook dinner was very convenient. We had breakfast in the Café each morning, and it was delicious, setting us up for the day. The hostel's central location was very great. If you are looking for something a little different to a standard hotel I would highly recommend Hostel Café Koti. It absolutely contributed to our fantastic trip to Rovaniemi.

We stayed in a room with a private bathroom and other than snow plows waking me up in the middle of the night because it snowed every day, it was great. My partner never heard the plows and we were right on the corner at the roundabout. Bathroom is a shower room which isn't my favourite but it's clean and the room is nicely decorated. The café is also really nice with great decorations and art for sale. We only ate the buffet breakfast, which was perfect for winter -- oat porridge, fresh bread (which might be straight from the oven if you're lucky), nice toppings; simple but effective and good for a day of activities. Really great location as well, near all the tour companies, a short walk to the shopping centre, a short walk to the river and Artikuum museum. Generally great stay overall. The use of the kitchen was a bonus along with the sauna, though we didn't use it. Definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed at Hostel Café Koti in Rovaniemi for one night as a female solo traveler. The location is very convenient, close to the bus stop and many restaurants. The rooms were clean, and each bed had its own locker. The bathroom is located outside the room, but it was well maintained and easy to use without any rush. There is also a common kitchen available. Breakfast is offered for 9 euros with a good variety of food. The staff were decent, friendly, and very helpful. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in a 9 people dormitory for 3 nights. We had a very good experience . The dorm was very clean and most of all it was spacious. Everyone has its own locker and you don’t need to have a key but they give you a code. The bathrooms were clean, spacious and with everything you need like hair dryers. The kitchen was also well equipped and clean. It was very quiet and comfortable. Plus they also have a sauna accessible for 1 hour per day.

We had a one night, cancellable booking with Hostel Café Koti. The night before we were due to check in, one of us ended up in the emergency department with a severe migraine and a head injury from a hit to the head. Because of this we missed our night train, which threw off our whole itinerary, and we needed to cancel the hostel stay as a result. We contacted the hostel straight away to explain and provided proof of the emergency. Despite this, they refused to waive the charge unless we could provide an official medical certificate, which we didn't have, and the way this was communicated to us felt cold and unsympathetic given what we were dealing with. We understand cancellation policies exist for a reason, but we were disappointed by the lack of flexibility or basic compassion given we were dealing with a genuine medical emergency. A bit of understanding in a situation like this would have gone a long way. Wouldn't stay here based on how this was handled.

The members of the staff were all really kind and helpful at all times! The hotel is located near the beautiful Kemi river, perfect for relaxing, and it’s only two minutes away from a bus station that takes you to Santa’s Village.
