We had a nice stay, I am surprised by the recent negative reviews. The male employee who checked us in the evening of 5/21 was very kind and helpful to our group. This was the cleanest hotel bathroom experience on our entire trip. The employee downstairs was quick to help us get a still water bottle when our room was missing the complimentary one. Yes, the hotel is slightly dated and it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the sights, but it had everything we could need and its proximity to the train station was helpful.

Overall, we had a good experience staying here. The rooms were very clean and spacious, though we were surprised to find there was no mini fridge in the room, which is usually standard for hotel rooms. Service was a mixed bag: the reception staff during check-in was not very friendly or welcoming, but the checkout staff made up for it by being very pleasant and helpful. As for extras, breakfast felt a bit expensive at €21 per person, and parking just outside the hotel was an additional €10 fee. Despite these minor issues, the comfortable and clean rooms made for a solid stay.

Apart from a very nice buffet breakfast there was not much positive to say about this hotel. Located on a very busy corner this hotel seemed very unloved. Poor bedroom lighting - one bedside light had only an exposed cord dangling with no light attached , the bed head was taped with gaffer tape and the air conditioning, despite having someone check it out, was non existent. They provided us with a fan. Due to the heat and noise we virtually didn't sleep.The one positive is that it had a guest laundry which put me in a slightly more positive frame of mind.Bed was very comfy and great bed linen.

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. Breakfast was particularly good and our room was good and bathroom had a good bath. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again. It was a reasonable walk to the centre.

We had IHG hotel credit, so we opted to use it here during a long trip through the Alps. The hotel is not in the main city area, but there is a bus stop close by that took us into town, and we used Uber. It was a basic hotel room, but clean and did the job just fine. The $10 outdoor parking was very limited so don't count on it. The garage parking was ok, but be warned that getting and in out is very tight especially if you have a bigger car or SUV. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The only real issue is that the AC doesn't work well. We tried to use the window, but they don't open much to get any good air and it's pretty loud outside.

This hotel is not recommended at all. The staff is very unprofessional and the customer service is terrible. On check-in day, the service was extremely rude and unprofessional for no reason. Upon arrival, they told me the room wasn't ready yet and I waited. After waiting 40 minutes, I asked again, and they asked if I was checking in and asked for my information again (they hadn't even noted my previous arrival, unbelievable). Then they asked for my credit card, and I asked why. They said it was in case I left without paying... I told them I had already paid for my room when I made the reservation. Then they said it was for tourist taxes, and I offered to pay them in cash, which they refused. Then they raised their voices and said it was in case I broke something, and that they wouldn't pay for it. These changes in their explanations confused me and made me increasingly distrustful. I have never in my life received such unpleasant treatment at a reception desk without any justification. They refused to let me ask why they were demanding my credit card (I didn't trust them anymore, especially with this kind of treatment). They called the manager when they saw I wouldn't give them my card (since the reservation was already paid for). Instead of resolving the issue, she told me that if I didn't give them my card, they wouldn't give me the key to the room, a room that was already paid for. This was an unjustified use of coercion. Very unpleasant treatment of a customer at check-in for a hotel that's supposed to be 4 stars. Well, neither the staff nor the facilities are anything like 4 stars. At most, 2 stars. Of course, I filed a complaint with the Salzburg Tourist Information Office and with the hotel, a complaint that has never been answered by the hotel, which demonstrates their indifference towards their customers.

Convenient location and acceptable hotel. We had a lovely room with amazing mountain views. Generally the staff were accommodating but we would like to give a special shout out to Mariantoinnetta on the front desk who was exceptional! She is hardworking, kind, thoughtful and without doubt a credit to the Holiday Inn franchise!! ❤️ Breakfast is varied, with plenty of choice for adults and children. The pan cakes are an absolute must to try with maple syrup or Nutella! Rooms are cleaned well but you have to let them know when checking in if you want your room cleaned and want fresh towels each day. They do not have smart tvs in the room so channels are mostly as you would expect catering for Austrian viewers. We had brought along our fire stick to watch Netflix in but there are no power cables located near the tv so we’re stuck watching the one or two English news channels. We enjoyed our stay and found the hotel overall a great experience and would recommend ❤️.

First time staying at this IHG property and the overall experience was only ok. The location of the hotel to the train station is less than a 15 minute walk and easy to find. When checking in, we waited about 10 minutes for the hotel staff member to check us in, and since she was the only one working, I understand why it took so long. She was friendly, and provided good service. Our room was on the 6th floor, and since we had checked in when it was dark, our view came in the morning, which was quite a great view of the mountains. It was nice to wake up to. The room definitely feels and shows how outdated it is, especially the bathroom. The bed wasn't the most comfortable compared to other IHG properties. The air conditioning was awful. It kept shutting off throughout the night, so luckily we were able to open up a window, but it kept getting hot which did not make for a pleasant sleep. There were issues with the internet that didn't allow us to access Netflix or prime on the TV, but fortunately we had a long day of travel so it didn't matter much. The hotel room did not wow me besides the view and was average or slightly below average of what I expect from IHG properties. Only the location and the views were the good parts of the stay.
