Was part of a Camino Frances Tour Group.|What a surprise it was to stay at this hotel at the end of our tours and walks.|It was like a wonderful oasis from the touring and walking. As we were coming down our last walk that started tat the Monte do Gozo (Mountain of Joy) we could see the road leading to our hotel, it almost made one want to abandon the last leg of the walk, and just head to the hotel, but of course we did not. We needed to get to KM 0 our final destination. The hotel grounds, and building, and interior is lovely. The colors are pleasant and relaxing. There is a pool (not heated), a little chapel (that was open on the day I was there), and some small trails around the grounds. Everything is beautiful and tastefully done. We had a last group dinner here and the food was special and tasty, because I cannot do chocolate, they got me a non cholate dessert, which was delicious. |The breakfast buffet is was nice. Anytime there is kiwi provided I'm happy. The hotel is about 10-15 mins away from the SDC center. So it was not as convenient as some of the other hotels on my Camino Frances tour. But given the beauty of the hotel one doesn't mind. There was a free shuttle to/from the SDC center which drops off and picks up at the Plaza gallica. It has certain operating times. You must reserve it though. I accidently thought it ran on a regular schedule, but was mistaken and had to pay for an unnecessary taxi ride from the Plaza back to the hotel on evening. The Plaza gallica is -- once you know where it is -- easily reached. I stopped by this wonderfully little pastry shop on the way to the plaza. There was at least 1 staff member that spoke English with an American accent, which make it easy to ask other questions, and communicate at a higher bandwidth.

Overall, the hotel was very good. The room was spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable, which made the stay enjoyable.However, it is unacceptable to have a double bed for a couple that is only 135 cm wide. For a hotel of this standard, a proper double or queen-size bed should be the minimum. This significantly impacted the comfort of the stay and should be addressed.

Very disappointing – guests clearly come second to private events We booked this hotel months in advance specifically because it had a pool. Just three days before our stay, we were informed that the pool would be closed for a private event — a wedding. This was not a technical issue or something beyond the hotel’s control; the hotel simply chose to host a private event at the expense of its paying guests. We contacted the hotel and asked for some form of compensation or gesture, but they offered absolutely nothing — not even breakfast. Unfortunately, that was not the end of the problems. Our room was not ready at check-in, so we had to wait with two small children. When we finally got into the room, it was clear that only the beds had been changed. The floors were dirty and there were stains around the toilet. We reported this and asked them to clean the room while we went for a walk with the children. When we returned, it had still not been cleaned. What was most disappointing was the attitude of the staff. Whenever we raised the pool issue, we were repeatedly told that it was “out of their hands.” It wasn’t. The hotel made the decision to host a wedding and close a facility that guests had booked and paid for. We also asked to speak to a manager and were told there was no manager available. Overall, we felt that paying guests were simply not a priority. The hotel seemed much more interested in the private event and the revenue it generated than in the guests who had booked their stay months in advance. We would not stay here again and would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for several weeks while working in the city and had a wonderful experience throughout our entire stay. The atmosphere is very elegant and stylish, and the entire property is extremely clean and well maintained. The breakfast is excellent with a great selection and high quality every day. The staff was always friendly, professional, and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable during our stay. Thank you for the great hospitality — we would happily come back anytime and highly recommend this hotel!

Terrible experience. We found bed bugs in our room and immediately informed reception. The way the situation was handled was extremely disappointing: we were not offered an adequate solution and were told that we had to pay for another hotel ourselves and make a complaint the following day. Being left late at night without safe accommodation after already paying for the stay was incredibly stressful. I would have expected much more assistance and responsibility from a hotel when dealing with such a serious hygiene issue.

Very average. Vila is way too dark. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are old fashioned. Breakfast ok but way too expensive for the price. And I honestly wouldn’t stay there again. For the price I can get way more modern accommodation

One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. We discovered bed bugs in our room and immediately reported the problem to reception. Instead of taking responsibility and providing us with a safe alternative, we were told that if we wanted to move to another hotel, we would have to pay for it ourselves and make a complaint the following day. As we could not safely use the bed, we ultimately had to spend the night sleeping on the sofa in the room we had already paid for. What made the situation even more unacceptable was that I was travelling with my mother, who has a recognised disability and holds a European Disability Card. Despite this, we were left to deal with an extremely stressful hygiene issue during the night without an adequate solution from the hotel. We have photographic and video evidence of the bed bugs and have submitted an official tourism complaint (Hoja de Reclamación) regarding the incident. Bed bugs can unfortunately occur even in hotels, but what defines a property is how it responds when something serious goes wrong. In our case, the response was completely unacceptable. We felt abandoned rather than assisted. I would never stay here again and, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fab hotel, large air con rooms. Outdoor pool. Had a la carte lunch menu and sampled excelent Galician foods, scallops and hake. Beautiful grounds, chapel for weddings. Lovely staff. Really enjoyed my stay.
