Response from the property
Dear Alice. Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are absolutely delighted to hear that your stay at the NH Collection Santiago was one of the best hotel experiences you have had in a long time. It is fantastic to know that you enjoyed our "super comfy" beds and that our breakfast buffet—which we take great pride in—made such a lasting impression as one of the best you have seen. We are also glad you were able to take full advantage of our wellness facilities, including the pool, sauna, and gym. Our team strives daily to provide helpful and attentive service, and your kind words are the best motivation for all of us. While we are sorry you couldn't stay longer this time, we would be honored to welcome you back for a more extended visit in the near future. Hope you have an extraordinary day, Paloma Ferreiro Guest Relations NH Collection Santiago

For a meal without leaving the hotel, the Abeiro Restaurant serves Galician dishes and international favorites, and the lobby bar offers drinks and small plates. Nearby, within a short walk, you can find Meson do Pulpo, Restaurante O Cesto, Cafeteria Narino, and Cafe bar 13 for Spanish and Mediterranean options. The hotel's own cafe is also handy for a quick bite. For a wider choice, the old town, about a 12-minute walk away, has many more restaurants and cafés to explore.
The hotel sits in a quiet, green part of Santiago, surrounded by parks and a small lake, with the Auditorium of Galicia right across the street. Parque de Vista Alegre (Finca Simeón) is a 5 minute walk away, and Parque de San Domingos de Bonaval is 10 minutes on foot. The old town and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela are a 12 minute walk, with the Mosteiro de San Martiño Pinario just 11 minutes away. A Dia Market and an ATM are close by for everyday needs. The area feels calm and residential, yet the historic center is easily reachable on foot.
From Santiago de Compostela Airport (SCQ), the easiest options are a taxi or a ride-hailing service, which take about 15 to 20 minutes. You can also take the Freire bus from outside the terminal to the bus station, then transfer to the 6A line and get off on Avda/Burgo das Nacions, right by the hotel. From Santiago De Compostela Train Station, it is about 10 minutes by car or taxi, or roughly 35 minutes on foot. By bus, take line 5 to Plaza de Galicia, then transfer to line 15 and stop on Avda/Burgo das Nacions where you will see the hotel.
In the evening, you can enjoy a drink or small plates at the hotel's own lobby bar, or dine at the Abeiro restaurant with its Galician menu. For a stroll, Parque de Vista Alegre is a 5-minute walk away, and Parque de San Domingos de Bonaval is 10 minutes on foot. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, a 12-minute walk, is a lovely spot to see in the evening light. You could also join a guided foodie tour with drinks, tapas, and live music, or a private tour of the old city. The area is quiet, so a short walk into the old town opens up more options.
Yes, the NH Collection Santiago de Compostela is a great base for exploring the city. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is a 12-minute walk away, and the Cathedral Museum is just 13 minutes on foot. You can also reach the Mosteiro de San Martiño Pinario in 11 minutes and Parque de San Domingos de Bonaval in 10 minutes. Parque de Vista Alegre is only a 5-minute walk, while Parque da Alameda takes 18 minutes. For the Colexiata de Santa María a Real do Sar, it's a 2.0 km trip, so you may want to use a taxi or ride-hailing service. The old town and its main sights are all within a short stroll, making it easy to set out each day.
