This hotel is fantastic. Location is ideal as its as close as you need to get in a car with s short walk to the main square. The building is like walking into a different century and has so much character. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathrooms also clean and well kept with hoid pressure in shower system. The swimming pool is a decent size, clean with a 3 person jacuzzi with excellent shower facilities. We did not eat here but the staff were so nice and next time we will definitely dine in the hotel. Special credit to Adrian on reception and Jose in the restaurant who were very pleasant and looked after us. Secure car parking included, we dropped off our bags gurst at front door and then parked in hotel car park. Highly recommended

Location is perfect. There is a big garten und very nice pool! Breakfast ist just excellent!

The hotel is beautiful, the service exceptional, and you can't beat the location (a block away from the Cathedral). The only challenge was finding the parking lot using GPS, it kept sending us to a garage just before the hotel. Perhaps better signage to help with that issue. Other than that, we absolutely loved the place!

Unfortunately, this hotel is not worth the price they charge. The building is beautiful, they did a great renovation, but the rooms are very bad. I booked this hotel because I wanted to stay in a good hotel to rest and have some comfort after finishing the Camino de Santiago, but it was the opposite. The room was small, a small single bed, only one pillow and no comfort. For a 4-star hotel, they should pay a little more attention to comfort. The rooms don't have breakfast, a mini-fridge, nothing. It's not worth the price they charge. Apart from that, the reception and restaurant staff were polite. Only the man who served me at the bar wasn't; he was in a bad mood. It seemed like he was just doing it out of obligation because he was there. In short, it was my worst night. Every other place I stayed along the way had much more comfortable beds and rooms.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you ever find yourself in Santiago de Compostela, do yourself a favor and stay at the Monumento. This stunning former convent is one of those rare places where history, luxury, and genuine hospitality all come together perfectly. The rooms are absolutely beautiful — thoughtfully appointed and luxurious in every way. The food was delicious, the olive oil was outstanding (a small detail that says a lot about a place), and it’s clear they’ve thought of everything. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Olga, Juan, and Rosa made our check-in feel warm and personal, and made sure we were well taken care of on our way out. Fran greeted us every morning at breakfast with a genuine smile and kept the coffee coming — which after walking the Camino, is practically a miracle in itself. Total five-star experience, start to finish. We will absolutely be back.

Staff here have mastered the lost art of attentive, sincere customer service. It’s human connection that turns a contractual exchange into a meaningful experience. A highlight was the menu del día lunch in the stunning historical dining room. Best-kept secret in town and fantastic value for money! We enjoyed perfectly executed dishes which had originated in different monasteries and skilled service from engaging waiters with a great sense of humor!

The hotel feels part hotel, part museum. We were upgraded to a suite as we arrived a bit late and the room type we booked were all gone. Breakfast was an amazing all you can eat buffet. The location a stones throw, from Santiago de Compostela was so convenient. The parking was a little hard to negotiate at night as the gate into the area had been shut and we weren't aware of the intercom button on the side of the wall. We parked in front and our car was moved for us and from there going in and out was easy. Beautiful grounds and lovely stay. Highly recommend!

Without question, the absolute worst hotel experience I’ve had in years.|The main culprit is the staff—particularly at reception—who are the most remarkably rude, arrogant, and disinterested people I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry. Their written communication before our arrival was so appalling and incomprehensible that we ended up stuck with rooms we explicitly did not want. When we raised this, expecting a shred of basic customer service or flexibility, we were met with outright contempt.|Adding insult to injury, the reception staff have a habit of rolling their eyes and immediately talking about you in Spanish right to your face, smugly relying on the language barrier while making their utter disdain crystal clear through body language.|The physical hotel itself falls shockingly short of its four-star rating:| * Rooms: Resemble dark, cramped prison cells.| * Bathrooms: Tired, outdated, and visibly dirty.| * Breakfast: An overpriced €22 insult that is barely edible.|A hotel's fixtures can be forgiven, but hostile service cannot. The sheer malice, arrogance, and unprofessionalism of the staff single-handedly ruin this property. Avoid this place at all costs.
