Room was affordable and clean. Staff was accommodating and friendly. The only reason they don't get a 5 is because both days the breakfast eggs were ice cold and the bacon, super greasy.

My time living here was not what I hoped for. The location is good, but there were a lot of other aspects that were lacking. The kitchen was under equipped, with broken pans that leave metal residue on your morning eggs. You get dinners provided, with the suspicious chicken being the local special! If you try to communicate with the owners, it will not be in english. Despite claiming to be bilingual, they don't speak a word of it! Somehow, they manage to translate the invoice when they charge you for basic necessities, such as printing or repairing things you didn't break in the first place. The residents are very pleasant though, and its a great place to make friends.

Most reviews are from hotel guests, but the real business of Vizcainos is renting flats to students, mostly international ones, who pay up to 2000€ a month (as myself). I was a first-year student living there, my first time abroad, and it turned into one of the worst experiences of my life The owners are hostile and malevolent. They once called us “favelados”, they were labeling us as if we were beneath them, associating us with poverty and slums in a very offensive way, in front of others, and made many false accusations they later had to apologize for. They do not treat students with basic respect, and they let emotions and anger dictate how they run the place. The biggest issue is safety and privacy. I was forced to install cameras inside my own bedroom because while I was out, they would enter my locked room without permission. Even worse, they had surveillance cameras recording us 24/7 throughout the house, which is okay, but these feeds were livestreamed at their hotel, where strangers could watch us live our lives without consent. This is not only unethical but terrifying I will admit, at times we were not the perfect clients. We had parties, brought people over, and acted like students. That part is understandable. But instead of handling it professionally, they crossed a line and treated us like something less than human, not like their paying clients. Worse, they generated hate toward our apartment within their own circle, isolating and targeting us instead of resolving issues fairly. There was never professionalism, only intimidation, invasion of privacy, and constant stress. What should have been a safe home for students was the opposite. If you are a parent looking for housing for your child, know that Vizcainos is not a safe or trustworthy place.

When you book a triple room in the hotel in summer, they charge you extra for the third person -- but they do not provide a third bed for that guest if he/she is older than 7 years, and you need to pay again an additional 30€/night for that.

Fabulous little hotel, cosy and tucked away. Very central and 2 mins walk from the aqueduct. Lovely staff on check in.

This have been my worst experience in any location I have stayed. Some things in the rooms are broken, the food tasteless, and among other things, the worst of all are the owners/managers, Ruth and Nacho. As you can imagine they behave so nice for that first impression, but so far from reality. When something goes bad they start to show their personality: churlish, rude, bad-mannered and malevolent. I saw, and other residents told me as well, they treat people that comes from cultures different from the European in a derogatory manner, we perceived rac¡st behaviors. They just hire people from other ethnicities to cover that up, but they treat them very poorly behind the doors. If you want to stay for one night, that might be ok, basically because anyone can spend one night anywhere and move on. But if you are planning to stay several days, or you're going as a student, and planning to spend there your college year.. You'll definitely need to find another place, this might not be even an option.
