This Quinta is beautiful, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. I took two yoga classes with Patricia during my stay. A relaxing yin yoga class and a healing energetic kundalini class. The pool and grounds are beautiful and I took Patricia’s recommendation for a close by restaurant. Wonderful food and view of the castle! I had a change of travel plans and this was the perfect place to relax between destinations. Patricia is a wonderful host! As a female solo traveler I felt very safe!

A beautiful house with very kind hosts that make you feel welcome. Breakfast each morning with fresh juice and fruits, good bread and cheeses/meats. Pool and garden for you to enjoy. Close to Sintra and wonderful beaches. Would come again!

What a lovely small-scale, tasteful accommodation! We were impressed by the decoration, styling and quality of the Quinta and enjoyed the pure and peaceful ambiance very much. We’re thankful for Patricia and her team for making our stay such a wonderful experience.

The owner was very friendly and has high hospitality mindset. This place is cozy atmosphere in the countryside. Feels like I was visiting my family vacation home. The breakfast was nice and nit. It is not an inderstrial fancy looking hotel, but if you want a family atmosphere, this is the place for you. My only concern is the sink in the bathroom in my room did not have hot water running. Otherwise it was 10 out of 10 experience.

I just checked out from this place and the only mistake is not staying longer :). The owners created a really unique place that really feels like coming home. I spoke to them many times through my stay and the breakfast is lovely - fresh orange juice made by them right before serving as well as bread and other goodies from the village. You’ll be outside the busy city that’s filled with day only travelers. I recommend at least 3 nights to fully explore Sintra. There are at least 5 Palaces to explore just for starters ! Don’t second guess - just book ✨.

Our stay was wonderful! Patricia and Ricardo were the best hosts ever! They were so helpful with giving us advice to save us time getting to places, gave us great recommendations for local restaurants, and were so welcoming to us. The breakfasts they served hit the spot! The best coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice along with Portuguese specialties, cheeses, meats, yogurt, granola, and freshly made breads. The room we stayed in was very clean and very spacious. Bathroom was also immaculate with plenty of towels and toiletries. Hot water was immediate. Quinta do Pe Descalco also has a large family room for guests use, and in there was a table perfect for gathering or playing cards. The outdoor area includes a pool with lounge chairs that is great to come home to, plus a very large table that could easily fit 16 or more people. Do not look further....book Quinta do Pe Descalco!

Patricia and Ricardo are excellent hosts and it is an amazing place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there! Everything was very clean and very comfortable. We loved the both the interior and exterior spaces where we could gather and relax. There are so many places to visit and it was a great place to venture from for day trips. Would highly recommend 😀

We greatly enjoyed our three night stay here near Sintra with host Ricardo providing an excellent breakfast and lots of advice about places to go and things to do in several languages. There's a nice pool and the guest lounge and breakfast rooms are a pleasure to use. It's a quiet place with no traffic or TV though the local dogs can be heard at night. There are restaurants nearby and several beaches a 15 minute drive away.
