This is a boutique hotel located in a great location. It is right next to the Takayama train station and it's also withing walking distance to many attractions like the Miyagawa Morning Market and Sanmachi Suji. If you are driving like we did, the hotel offers their own open private lots for 1,000 yen per day. You can enter and exit the car park as many times as you like. Shirakawa-go is also only an hour's drive from here should you decide to visit. We stayed 4 nights in the "Japanese Modern Style Room" with a huge balcony overlooking the Takayama Station train tracks. This room have 2 queen beds and a kitchenette with an induction stove and microwave oven if you fancy cooking your own meals. For your laundry needs, the hotel also have a coin operated laundromat. This hotel is beautiful, clean and modern. We love that our room have a huge balcony that we can walk out to instead of being in cooped up in the room all the time. We will definitely be back.

I love FAV Lux hdiatakayama. It's like living in our home. The room is very spacious and we booked the room for only 6,700 pesos per night. Such a steal. Strong wifi connection and strong water pressure. Room is nice and clean toom we love sleeping in the tatami futon beds. Super near the train and bus station (2 minute walk only). We will definitely go back! We are all the way from the Philippines

-The tatami rooms located at the corner, had bathrooms which were not insulated against winter temperature. The bathrooms were cold . We wanted to change rooms but the hotel is full. It is minus 5 degrees, and bathroom is icy cold -The Tatami rooms' mattresses & quilts were not fitted with with sheets. Guest have to do it themselves. I was quite astonished as I had stayed in a few tatami rooms or ryokans, never was i required to install my own bedsheets and quilt sheets. -Check out time is 10am. By 10.10am, the staff was knocking at the my room's door to chase. So don't expect much customer service here. Nonetheless, hotel is new, decent cafe downstairs. Kitchenette in tatami rom is very handy. Decor is modern and trendy. They have electronic door locks hence keys are required. Location is great, near to train station. Parking is at the open air carpark opposite, with a fee of 1000 yen per night.

This hotel offers beautiful and incredibly spacious rooms close to the train and bus station in Takayama. We had booked the "executive bunk" room, which offers two double beds and two single bunk beds. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with seperate shower and toilet, as well as a kitchenette and a couch. The entrance area also conveniently offers room to store larger luggage items. The only oddity for us were the light switches. Most of the rooms lighting appears to be controllable solely by the switches beside the double beds, so if you've turned off the lights in the morning and get back late, there's no easy way to turn them back on from the entrance area (that we were able to figure out at least). The light switches at the bed are also highlighted by a fairly bright blue LED, which may bother you if you're sensitive to light at night. One last head's up for the room: These rooms are unsurprisingly popular with families and larger groups, given the space they offer, so the surrounding rooms were rather noisy. The hotel itself is located incredibly close to the bus and train station, which makes catchung an early morning bus to Kanazawa or Shiragawa a breeze. The only downside to this is that you can hear the trains rumbling by, which was a surprising non-problem for us as the trains were running very infrequently and none seemed to be running at night, but should be noted in case you want to complete avoid this noise. Checking in and out was easy and the staff was very helpful in guiding us through the process. There's also a small café embedded in the entrance area for a quick fix of caffeine. All in all a great place to stay, especially for a family, but perhaps a little suboptimal for us a couple.

We really liked the hotel room with the ample space, as well as the tub with a great view right within the room! Everything was new which included the breakfast routine. I think we were there for their first day, and then day 2. They made improvements such as asking for people's time to attend breakfast, which allowed for a more spread out crowd. The 4 breakfast food options were okay, but icould be improved.

I chose this hotel because of its location and how nice the room looked, which turned out to exceed my expectations. I had an exceptional experience staying here.It’s less than a 5-minute walk from Takayama Station. We arrived quite early—several hours before check-in—but were able to store our luggage. The check-in process itself was smooth.The room we reserved felt more like an apartment-style hotel room. It was very spacious, with plenty of room to move around. I liked how the furniture was arranged; everything was well-maintained, clean, and tidy. The beds were large, and I especially appreciated that they provided four pillows each—I slept very comfortably.I also loved the balcony. My friend and I spent hours there, watching cars and trains come and go, as well as people walking by.The facilities and amenities were exactly as advertised in the Services & Amenities section. Out of my recent two-week trip, this accommodation was the place I enjoyed the most.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a short walk from the train station, which makes getting around really easy. The lobby area is also very spacious and welcoming. There is a café inside, so when you first walk in it feels comfortable and relaxing. The hotel itself has a modern design and feels quite new. Our room was fairly spacious in the main living area and even came with a small kitchenette, which was very convenient. One small downside is that the luggage storage felt a bit informal. When we left our luggage there, it was simply placed to the side without any tags or tracking, which made it feel a little less organized. Another thing to note is that some room types do not have a bathtub, including the one we stayed in. The building also has a sauna and bathing facility, but it requires an additional fee, which we did not realize beforehand, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, the stay was still comfortable. Since the hotel is close to the railway, you may hear a little bit of train noise, but it wasn’t too disruptive.

Great room. Clean and spacious. Good facilities in the room. Small reception area, combined with a cafe. There were no parking places available when we got there, so we had to drive around to 2 alternative parking places before we found something. Breakfast is only 3 options in the cafe. Very limited and not something our children liked. So we had to find alternative breakfast ourselves. Located in central Takayama. Right behind the train line. We weren’t affected by this, but the train was audible from our room
