Exceptional location, great rooms, typically efficient & friendly Japanese service. We truly loved every part of our recent stay here. There cannot be a better location: right beside the train station AND bus terminal. A plethora of restaurants and shops barely 2 min walking distance. Spacious, well equipped, and comfortable rooms. Really stoked that our room had a washing machine too! I highly recommend this hotel and will gladly return!

Overall an excellent stay. Wish we had chosen to spend a couple more nights because the hotel and amenities were so great. Staff was friendly, professor and polite making the check in and check out process quick and seamless. They had an onsen and calligraphy instructions (?) that we didn't have a chance to try. We will definitely stay again when in Takayama just so we can have more time to enjoy the hotel.

This isn't the most fancy hotel in Japan, but it was one of my favorite stays. The room was large (huge by Japanese standards.) It was clean, and included a washer/dryer. Good location next to the train / bus station. It was reasonably priced. It was very nice to have room to spread out and do laundry. The employees I spoke to were all very pleasant.

Everything about this hotel is perfect! Great rooms, very spacious and well facilities, providing all cookingware so you can buy hida beef and make your own shabu shabu or bbq in your room. The location is great. Just at the station. And there is nearby boss market you can buy all the good food.

We stayed at Takayama Residence Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, making it an excellent base for exploring Takayama. One of the biggest highlights was the location. Takayama Station was just a short 2-3 minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for arriving, departing, and taking day trips. There were also convenience stores, restaurants, and cafes within easy walking distance. Our room was well-equipped, quiet, and had plenty of space compared to typical city hotels in Japan. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and made our stay very comfortable. The view from the hotel was beautiful. We could see Takayama Station, the surrounding town, and the mountains in the distance right from our room. Waking up to the mountain scenery, especially after the rain, was a memorable part of our stay and gave us a wonderful sense of being in the Japanese Alps. Overall, Takayama Residence Hotel offered the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and stunning views. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Takayama.

I was happy with my stay at Residence Hotel Takayama Station. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. It was very convenient to be so close to the train station. It is about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. From our room we had a nice view of the town and the mountains

Excellent location. 3 mins from the Takayama Nohi bus center and the Takayama JR train station. Room is cozy, toilet and bath is separated. Within walking distance to the shopping area. Our room has a washing machine, microwave, fridge and a small kitchen. It also has a small balcony to you to hang your clothes after washing them. You can cook your own breakfast or dinner, as cooking utensils (small pot, frying pan, chopsticks, bowls, cooking oil, soy sauce) are provided. Just make sure you separate all the trash into plastics, raw materials or combustable. You can get free coffee and matcha sachets at the reception area. You can also sign up for a free Japanese writing experience.

3 night stay at the Residence Hotel at Takayama station. Location is excellent right next to Takayama station. Rooms were very comfortable, with shower and bath. Great value for money. Ideally located, easy walking distance to the old part of town & saki houses where we participated in saki tasting. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
