Overall, we had a good experience staying at Hotel Repet for two nights. We were somewhat surprised by the self-check-in process, as we had expected a boutique hotel with a traditional reception desk (website).|We were two couples booked under the same reservation and had to call the hotel three times before we could obtain the room number and access codes for the second couple. While this was eventually resolved, it made for a less-than-ideal arrival experience.|Our room was spacious, comfortable and equipped with free WiFi and kitchenette. However, because it faced the Main Street, it was quite noisy throughout the night.|On the positive side, the hotel’s location was excellent-within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the main attractions.|Overall, I believe the guest experience could be improved by offering some form of personal hospitality, even if the hotel operates without a staffed reception. A welcome note with basic information about the property and local area would have made a big difference. Instead, the first thing guests see upon entering is a storage area containing full laundry bags, cleaning supplies, towels, soap, coffee (which was never replenished) supplies. We did not see a staff member at any time of our stay.

We’ve stayed at Repet many times the past decade, ever since the author Jonas Jonasson was the owner. Back then it was quirky, had small notes everywhere, references to his books – a personal touch. These days, after having changed owner’s at least two times, the things that made it feel personal are gone, in favour of being owned by a hotel group with branded soap dispensers and email check in. Maintenance doesn’t seem like a priority, and neither does cleaning; there was a duct that had seemingly been left exposed after panelling breakage, there was a lot of visible black mold in the shower cabinet/shower cord, cutlery was improperly washed and dirty. The foldout couch was a hazard (it folded on itself when my daughter sat on it) and very uncomfortable to sleep on. Checking info eventually came (~30 minutes before checkin at 3pm), but would have wanted it earlier since it contained info on how we could store luggage before checkin. What it still offers, though, is a very nice location, our room (which we always try to get) with the balcony overlooking hästgränd is very nice bonus.

Great place to stay. Good location, large room, full kitchen, and WiFi that works. Apartment was clean and a good value. Nearby, about a 4 minute walk, is a COOP supermarket. Plenty of options for dining within a couple minutes.

I don't write reviews often, but just had to for Hotel Repet. Our apartment was so charming and had every ammenity you could ask for. Top quality interior from decorations to bedding to kitchen resources. High quality coffee machine as a bonus. AND the apartment was quiet and cool (on our hot August trip). It is perfectly centered in Visby. I highly recommend Hotel Repet.

PROS: *The room was well-equipped, spacious and clean. There was a kitchenette, with pots and pans, refrigerators etc. The only thing I would say, is that a drying rack should be added (for dishes), and maybe a blender? *The location was superb, with everything within 3-4 mins walk. Right outside there is a great restaurant/deli, a cafe and a gelato shop. The outside of town was 2 mins walk, and the square was 5 mins walk. The bike renting shop I used was 3 mins walk, and the big supermarket of the town was 3-4 mins walk. If you felt like macdonalds/maxi, that was 6 mins walk. *Check in was early and smooth. There was no staff, instead you would recieve it by text. Quick and easy. *There was no noise whatsoever during the stay. The only time there was, was when you would turn on the air-con full blast. *Finally, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel provided soap, bath gel, towels etc. CONS: *I felt a lack of privacy in a way. As my apartment was on ground floor, people could technically look in my window and see me. The bathroom window was facing the courtyard, and although it was privacy-glass, you could still make out shapes/objects from the outside. If you were to come, you should select a high-up apartment as this issue would be solved. *The room has blinds, but the door lets through light. I personally cant sleep with light, so it was hard falling asleep (pics show) *Finally, the TV was awkwardly positioned, and I kept hitting my head on it. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend this to anybody.

Firstly this is absolutely not a hotel!! It is an apartment which has a coded entrance and lock box for the keys. There is no one around to help or provide any assistance. There is no daily cleaning or changing of towels. Also the telephone number listed on google and hotels.com is incorrect. The room was a good size but the bathroom was tiny with no where to put any personal items. All the beds squeaked when turning over in them. |We had a ground floor apartment and got told off by another resident in the court yard for opening our back door as that was her ‘private space’ this made our room unbearable hot and stuffy. Also the window on the back door does not have any blind so we had to fix a sheet over so the sun didn’t wake us all|Up at 3am when it rises here! The air con was useless. |The kitchen has some equipment including a hob, oven, fridge and kettle. There were2 tea bags, sugar and 2 milks but no coffee. There is no where to make ice cubes.|The location of this apartment is excellent with many fantastic restaurants nearby and close to all shops. Sadly we absolutely wouldn’t stay here again especially during the summer. Such a shame!

Hotel Repet, located in the heart of Visby’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, is a perfect place to stay in Visby, especially if you're staying like us for over two weeks. The room is thoughtfully designed, featuring a kitchen, a cozy living room, and a dining area, along with all the amenities necessary for a self-sufficient stay. The location is undeniably a highlight; it is in the middle of everything you want to explore, from shops and sites to restaurants. The self-check-in process is streamlined, adding a layer of flexibility for travelers arriving at various times.

Hotel Repet a true gem. Not to big, not to small. Very central, but not to central. Works for both business and vacation. Never stayed in a place that Home away from home is better suited. Easy to book, no reception, but easy to handla information and everything works like a clock or the people running the hotel is never more than a text/call away. The rooms have everything you want and need. Very clean, beds was comfortable and just lovely rooms with an access to an open terrace. Coffee machine, kitchen & refrigerator in all the rooms. Free wi-fi. Repet is located within the wall of Visby. bed was comfortable. Walking distance to all the shops, coffee places, restaurants and historic sights in Visby. We rented four of their 10 (?) rooms for two nights. and we will be back! It looks and feels newly re-done and all eight of us fell in love with Repet.
