Crêperie & Logi at Wallérs Plats 3 offers galettes and crêpes. Gamla Masters on Södra Kyrkogatan 10 is a classic pub with Swedish and European food. For a quick bite, Bror San on Adelsgatan 14 has Korean-inspired dishes. The hotel has a shared kitchen, so you can also cook your own meals.
You are right in the heart of Visby's World Heritage old town, on Hästgatan just steps from Adelgatan and the harbor. The Great Square is a 3-minute walk, and the Gotland Museum is 2 minutes away. Almedalen park is 4 minutes on foot, and the DBW's Botanical Garden is a 7-minute stroll. The medieval town wall is 9 minutes away, with the Österport and Söderport gates close by. The area is walkable and central, with the bus station and ferry terminal within easy reach.
From Visby Airport, about 4 km north, a taxi is the straightforward option; the hotel recommends Taxi Gotland. In summer, a flygbuss (airport bus) also runs. If you arrive by ferry at Visby Färjeterminal, it is about a 15-minute walk: head up Hamngatan, then take Hästgatan up from Donners plats, and the house is on the right after about 200 meters. The bus station is just outside the town wall near Östercentrum, about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
In the evening, you can walk to the Great Square in 3 minutes, where Bolaget Restaurant & Bar offers a lively spot for drinks and dinner. For a cozy pub feel, on Södra Kyrkogatan serves Swedish and European dishes with cocktails and wine. on Hästgatan combines a deli and restaurant, ideal for a relaxed meal with local ingredients. The Gotland Museum is a 2-minute walk away, and while its hours vary, the surrounding streets are pleasant for an evening stroll. The harbor, about 15 minutes on foot, has options like for fish dining by the water.
Yes, Visby Logi & Vandrarhem Hästgatan 14 is an excellent base for exploring Visby. You can walk to the Great Square in 3 minutes, the Gotland Museum in 2 minutes, and Almedalen in 4 minutes. The Visby Town Wall is a 9-minute walk, and the DBW's Botanical Garden is 7 minutes away. For sights further out, like Kneippbyn Sommar- och Vattenland, you would need a taxi or bus, but the core of the World Heritage City is right at your doorstep. The central location makes it easy to return to the hostel between explorations.
