This is a four star hotel. The staff are generally polite and friendly. And when we had problems with the room air conditioning they came promptly to solve it. The rooms are clean, well equipped and pleasant. The restaurant is good but be aware that you need to purchase all drinks apart from at breakfast time when they are included. The hotel bar area is lovely with plush seating and a wide selection of drinks. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Also a small gym. And you can pay for spa treatments. I will add some more details later.

The Pinija hotel sits right by the water. They have a small outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool. The rooms are very smart and clean, although I would have preferred a walk in shower than a shower over the bath. My shower lead was leaking heavily from the connection with the shower head so my water pressure was not great. The room had its own aircon but this was not working. Apparently everything is controlled centrally. Maybe because it was only May and the temperatures were not very high. I thought it odd that there were no free plug sockets in the room. If you wanted to charge anything you had to either unplug the kettle or the bedside lamp. Tea and coffee provided, but despite there being a fridge in the room there was no milk. Eventually sourced at the breakfast buffet in a cup and stored in the fridge. The food in the buffet was excellent with a huge choice, although my tip would be to get whatever you want to drink from the bar before you go in as ordering drinks once you were at your table was incredibly slow (around 10/15 minutes), there only seemed to be one waiter doing this among around 150 people. Prices in the bar were standard eg 2.50 for coffee, 5-6 euros for a beer, 8 euros for a G & T, wine around 25-30 euros a bottle. All in all an excellent place to stay

We had a wonderful month here. There’s no need to go into detail about the location—the sea is beautiful at any time of day, it’s never crowded, and the lounge chairs are included in the price—with the wonderful pine trees providing natural shade. Another thing we really liked: since the entire tiny peninsula belongs to the Hotel Pinija, there are lots and lots of “hidden nooks.” A bench here, a beanbag there, mood lighting everywhere, couches—there are plenty of places to retreat to, and you can find a great cocktail anywhere :-) |The restaurants are excellent; even on the half-board plan, they served high-quality dishes: sushi-grade tuna or rump steak, for example. Fish was on the menu every day: monkfish, mackerel, calamari, swordfish steak, tuna tartare.... The events were perfect, too. They were quite spectacular and entertaining. |Our wedding anniversary also fell during this time, which we celebrated with private spa and enjoying a head spa treatment—so we got to try out the wellness area as well. We played mini-golf and petanque, and we never missed out on the artisanal ice cream either. :-) |Special thanks to our smiling “Dobro jutro” housekeeper for making our beds fresh every day, and to the waitstaff—Anastasia, Sally, Nikola, the bearded waiter at the Golden Bar, and the new guy (Damian?). We’re also grateful to the Event team for the daily workouts :-))) ; the midday Aqua Aerobics sessions were always fun (and intense) and were led brilliantly by the two blonde girls and the team’s only male member. |Since we stayed for such a long time, we can say that the number of families with young children varies—but we were never bothered by the many children or the abundance of children’s activities. Hotel Pinija stays one of our best vacations. A month that was never boring, and for which the hotel provided the perfect location, setting, and support by Hotel Pinija.

**Hotel Pinija, Petrčane — 2/5** We stayed here as a family with children and left disappointed, especially given the 4-star rating and the price. We booked a Superior room, but its condition didn't match either the category or the cost. The furnishings were dated and worn, and the view was poor — not what you'd expect from a "superior" room at this price point. Honestly, the quality simply doesn't justify a 4-star label. The beach was another letdown. Even though it's the hotel's own beach, it was poorly maintained, rocky and uncomfortable to enter, and often crowded. What bothered us most: for a fee, the hotel also lets in guests from outside, so the "private" beach feels neither exclusive nor worth the extra cost. Food was average — nothing to complain about, but nothing memorable either. On top of this, be prepared for extra charges for things like coffee and drinks, which adds up and further undermines the value. The location itself is nice and the setting has potential, but overall the price-to-quality ratio was off. For a family looking for a relaxing, worry-free stay, this didn't deliver.

We were here last summer, and we came back again, and I think we'll be back next summer. A great hotel, fantastic location in pine forest next to the sea. It's always a bit windy, so even during the heat wave we were able to enjoy the beach. Food is great, lots to choose from. Staff is excellent, friendly and always ready to help. Rooms are great, clean and with everything you need. Highly recommended.

LOVED staying here.I had a great welcome from the Receptionist, Rino - he gave me all the info I needed, and looked after my bags when I arrived before I went to the beach.He even called to tell me my room was ready early - but please note this might not happen each time.The hotel smelt nice when you entered the reception. It was so clean and fresh. The decor is lovely. The restaurant is huge with lots of seating. The gym and pool are great. So are the saunas which have an adults room for chilling in.The hotel is on the beach and I went in June so not crowded at all. Shout out to Rino, Ali, Barbara and Monika too for all their help and for a great stay.Please do check the timings for the buses carefully though as the bus schedule is very infrequent as it is based in Petrcane, not in Zadar itself.But it is a lovely village to holiday in, I really enjoyed the sunsets and the nights walking around, and it is not far from Punta Skala beach which I went to twice.They can organise excursions too to national parks and other tours if you wanted

The hotel is really good. Ambiance nice, beach is concrete, surrounded by pine trees and a lot of shade. The sea is clean. Rooms with the sea view big and clean. Only toiletis weirdly made, doesn’t flush well. Breakfast is varied and tasty, dinner too, however service at the dinner could be improved. The whole hotel premises are open to public which makes a bit of crowd and noise. Overall a good hotel and a good value for money.

We have been there twice already - and will come another year again! Hotel is beautiful, food is delicious, everything is clean and shiny and everyone is in a good mood. Kids playroom is very nice, suitable for various ages up to say 9-10. Hotel is clean, rooms are clean, housekeeping ladies are very friendly and really punctual (lady on our floor remembered our morning routine in a day or two and everytime we returned from breakfast, the room was clean and shiny - thank you!!!!) Food for adults - fish every day, tuna was marvelous, steaks as well, it was hard to choose sometimes as there were too many great options! Fresh fruits everyday, we used to go eating shortly after the restaurant opened and they never run out (ok, bananas one day, when we were really late) Food for kids - even picky eaters are served, as in the Pini Kids Corner they serve pasta and sauce separately. Fries every day. Pancakes for breakfast, croissants everyday. Variety of jams. Various kind of bread, even the simple plain (would say sourdough) Pool is not heated (I guess, because last year it was chilly - around 22). Knee high (kid’s knee) for kids - separate from the deeper pool. Beach with various entries to the sea, including small pebbles (around beach bar Bura location). Homemade ice cream at beach bar Bura (lemon was the best I ever had). Sunbeds available, happened only once we did not find any (as there were lots of occupied ones by only towels for at least 1/2 a day) Everyone friendly, smiling, willing to help, advise. We are happy we found this spot, not our last time, indeed!
