Google· 7 years agoThe hotel has its own restaurant serving Moroccan dishes, plus a snack bar and pool bar, so you can eat on site. For a change of scene, the Nubian House restaurant, about 1 km past the Nubian Museum, offers sunset views over the first cataract with sheesha and tea. You can also try Biti Pizza near the train station for fiteer and western pizza, or Chef Khalil on Sharia al Souq for fresh fish. Makka, one street from the souq, is a well-regarded meat restaurant. These are all a short taxi or ferry ride from the hotel.
Colly Nubian House sits on Elephantine Island, right by the Nile, so you are surrounded by river views and a quiet, traditional Nubian setting. The Nubian Museum is an 11-minute walk away, and Feryal Garden is 12 minutes on foot, giving you easy access to culture and green space. The Unfinished Obelisk and Aswan Botanical Garden are each a 20-minute walk, so you can explore several sights without transport. For farther landmarks like Philae Temple, about 6.1 km away, you would take a taxi or join a tour. The island itself feels calm and local, with the city center a short boat ride across the water.
From Aswan International Airport, about 14 km away, take a taxi or pre-book the hotel's airport shuttle. The hotel is on Elephantine Island, so you will need a short ferry ride from the mainland. From Aswan train station, about 2 km away, a taxi will get you to the ferry point. The hotel can arrange transfers, and taxis are available at the airport and station. Plan for a straightforward trip with a taxi and a quick boat crossing.
In the evening, you can enjoy the on-site restaurant and bar at Colly Nubian House, which offers a relaxed setting with views over the Nile. The hotel's rooftop terrace is a great spot to unwind and take in the quiet atmosphere of Elephantine Island. For a short stroll, the Nubian Museum is an 11-minute walk away, and Feryal Garden is 12 minutes, both pleasant for an evening visit. If you want to explore further, the Aswan Botanical Garden is a 20-minute walk, and you can arrange a taxi or ride-hailing service to reach other parts of the city. The hotel also has a games room and billiards for a casual evening indoors.
Colly Nubian House is a great base for exploring Aswan on foot. The Nubian Museum is an 11-minute walk away, and Feryal Garden is 12 minutes, so you can easily start your sightseeing right from the hotel. The Unfinished Obelisk and Aswan Botanical Garden are each a 20-minute walk, making them pleasant strolls as well. For farther sights like Philae Temple, about 6.1 km away, or the High Dam at 12.2 km, you will need a taxi or a tour, which the hotel can help arrange. The hotel's location on Elephantine Island puts you close to the river and the city's main attractions, so you can spend less time traveling and more time exploring.
