We had an amazing time at Pensativo House. The property is incredibly charming and intimate. There is a beautiful view of the volcanos from everywhere you look. The staff is warm and eager to help with anything you may need. The drinks at the rooftop terrace were delicious! Our two Queen room was massive and well appointed, with excellent AC and very comfortable beds. The location is excellent and walkable to anywhere you may want to go in Antigua. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and would absolutely stay there again!

The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from the airport. It is located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and other businesses. There is staff to greet guests at the entrance and assist with luggage delivery to the room. The front desk staff was friendly, quick to answer questions, and assist with requests. Our reservation included breakfast for 3 guests so I had to pay for the forth person in our party but the food was delicious, convenient and less expensive than dining outside the hotel. A 10% gratuity charge is included in the restaurant bill so if you want to tip more you need to do so with cash. They have one dining facility on the main floor and a roof terrace that provides excellent views of the city and surrounding area. There is a large courtyard located near the hotel entrance where guests can sit to unwind that contains a designated area for smoking. The hotel is affiliated with a sister facility that allows guests access to a swimming pool, restaurant and other services. We had a late flight so I requested a late check out at 6:00 pm which was moderately priced. We attended a wedding and the hotel handled the ceremony rehearsal, reception meal and after party.

I'm very partial to this hotel. They need to learn how to make eggs benedict but other than that I really enjoyed my stay there. The pool is one block away in their neighbor hotel pool. But the pool is heated and very nice. The rooms are very nice too. Slight mold smelling which I think they could get rid of but I truly enjoyed my stay there and I would come back. Hospitality at the hotel is excellent and I love the ambience and The view. They allowed my Spanish teacher entry to teach me and we found a lovely place for me to improve my Spanish. The hotel is in a great location and I intend to come back next year for 2 weeks to take Spanish classes.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It is close enough to the center of town to be convenient but far away enough to not have tourists milling around outside. The grounds are beautiful. The hotel does not have the feel of a resort for tourist but that of an elegant home. And the hotel’s terrace on the first floor has spectacular views. We had one of the bigger rooms on the first floor and enjoyed our private courtyard with a jacuzzi at the end of the long day sightseeing. Our room was also wonderfully quiet. The staff were all very nice and the breakfasts were delicious. I looked forward every morning to the fruit bowl full of lovely cut fruit with yogurt and home made granola (but there are many egg alternatives for those who prefer eggs). The hotel works with a very nice spa (Ceiba Spa) and private tour organizer (a la Carta Tours) available at another hotel a couple blocks away. I highly recommend staying here.
