Arusha Coffee Lodge was a charming retreat with just 30 rooms set among a beautiful coffee plantation. Our room was clean, unique, and cozy, with a lovely mosquito canopy over the bed. The staff were warm and friendly, and the food was excellent. We also enjoyed touring the coffee farm and visiting the special “Shanga” workshop, which provides opportunities for people with disabilities and women to create beautiful arts and crafts. A beautiful and meaningful place to stay! ❣️

We only had a lunch there. Their buffet was very good and plenty to choose from. Great looking setting. Liked like lots of folks eating just lunch there. On site is a business that I think is a tremendous asset to the community. It employs the physically challenged individuals to learn an artsy skill and be able to earn a living. It's free to visit and you can see weaving, glass blowing, making fabric cosmetic bags, painting, they even make paper gift bags for your purchases from old magazines and newspapers. Their gift shop displays their products for purchase. What a great way to support these productive members of their society!

After 2 days of flying from Australia to Kilimanjaro Airport, and then an hour's drive to Arusha Coffee Lodge we were exhausted and really needed a place to rest and restore. Set amid a working coffee plantation, all cabins offer privacy and are well appointed. Our suite had a huge bathroom with a full size bath, shower and large sink area. Dinner exceeded expectations with a 4 course fine dining menu. Breakfast offered a hot breakfast to order plus an array of continental buffet choices. Lunch was an impressive outdoor buffet with a chef cooking chicken and meat on a barbecue with a wood fired oven firing up pizza. It was very relaxing enjoying a glass of wine and a delicious lunch in a beautiful outdoor setting. Gardens surround the spacious grounds with monkeys playing up in the trees. There are some artisan shops with demonstrations of glass blowing and coffee plantation tours if you have time or inclination. At the time of lunch there was a resident artist painting with his art for sale. A great experience and I only wish we had stayed 2 nights instead of one.

⭐☆☆☆☆ This review is not about the food—it’s about a very concerning payment experience. My husband and I visited for the lunch buffet on June 21, 2026. What concerned us most was the lack of price transparency. When we were seated, the host informed us that the buffet cost $40 USD per person. Shortly afterward, our assigned waiter told us the buffet was actually $34 USD per person. Since this was a significant difference, we checked the restaurant’s Instagram page and found a Father’s Day flyer stating that on June 21 the lunch buffet was 85,000 TZS per person, which was equivalent to about $32.41 USD based on the exchange rate that day. At first, we assumed the $34 price quoted by the waiter might simply reflect a small premium for paying in USD. However, when it was time to pay, the same waiter changed the price again and said it was $35 USD per person. He then strongly encouraged us to pay in cash. When we requested to pay by credit card, he repeatedly suggested that cash would be easier and claimed the card machine was not working. Only after we insisted on paying by card did the machine suddenly work, and the amount charged matched the advertised 85,000 TZS buffet price. We cannot say with certainty what was happening, but the sequence of events was extremely troubling: * Three different buffet prices were quoted ($40, $34, and $35). * The official advertised price was lower than all of them. * We were repeatedly encouraged to pay cash. * We were told the card machine was not working, yet it worked when we insisted. Whether this is a training issue or something else, it creates the appearance of a system that lacks transparency and leaves customers questioning whether they are being charged correctly. Visitors should verify buffet prices carefully before paying.

Just WOW!!! This place is a real gem! Our lodge was fantastic; very large, private and clean. The attention to detail in the decor was amazing! Staff is kind and friendly and do their very best to make sure you’re comfortable and well taken care of. The restaurant is among the best we experienced in Africa, everything was delicious and the breakfast buffet was very impressive! The grounds are stunning! Extremely well taken care of and we just loved watching the monkeys that popped up every now and then! All around spectacular and we loved our experience here! Thank you 🙏
