This is a gorgeous resort. Everything is done to perfection. The landscape, the rooms, the service, the food was exceptional. Great place to relax in the gardens, pool, lounges or restaurant. Especially after long days of Safari tours. We met the owner and she passionately every details into this place. Thank you so much.

For our honeymoon safari adventure, we spent two nights in Tumbili lodge after a long travel day from the US. The two night stay was highlighted by absolute serenity, peace and excellent service. We’re very glad we stayed at Tumbili lodge as out first experience in Tanzania The food was wonderful, the garden was beautiful and the accommodations were very comfortable. We spent two days catching up on the jetlag and adjusting to prepare for the week-long safari we were going to take across 3 national parks. There were days we sat on the couch outside our room for hours watching dik dik run by, monkeys eating in trees and birds chirping in a pristine garden. The staff was friendly and it made for easy conversation with other guests in the common areas with the light mood. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tumbili lodge and understand why it was the preferred place to stay in Arusha by the late Jane Goodall.

I had the pleasure of spending one night in Banda 6 at Tumbili Lodge yesterday, and it was an amazing experience. The banda was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and very peaceful. The staff were warm, friendly, and provided excellent service from check-in to check-out. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation, and the surroundings are simply stunning. I highly recommend Tumbili Lodge to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Arusha. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so special. I look forward to coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our experience was extremely disappointing. We were treated unfairly right from the gate, and the customer service was terrible. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and showed no respect or willingness to help. Instead of making customers feel welcome, they made us feel ignored and unfairly judged. The whole experience was frustrating and ruined what should have been an enjoyable visit. I would not recommend this place unless they seriously improve their customer service and how they treat their guests at the main gate .

Lodge is very clean, food and service were great. Thank you to Mwajuma, she greeted us when me and the family checked in, very pleasant and welcoming. Shout out to Salome, great service and all smiles when we had our breakfast. They sang for us and we sang along as well together with them, what a pleasant surprise that was! Pool area was very clean. Thanks for making our stay memorable!

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

The best time to visit Arusha is from June to October, when rain is scarce and days are mild, with highs around 21-27°C. September and October are the driest months, with only 7 rain days each. The long rains from April to May are the wettest stretch, with April seeing 25 rain days and high humidity. The short rains in November and December are lighter but still bring frequent showers. For the most comfortable weather, aim for the dry season between June and October.

Which area should I stay in in Arusha?

Stay in the central Uzunguni area for easy access to the Clock Tower and restaurants; the Gran Melia Arusha and Kibo Palace Hotel Arusha are there. The Sekei area, near the Arusha-Taveta Road, suits those wanting a quieter base, with the Mount Meru Hotel. For a greener stay, the Tengeru Road area offers lodges like Arusha Serena Hotel and Lake Duluti Lodge, close to the national park. Kaloleni, around Somali Road, is a practical choice with the seven skies hotel.

What are the must-see attractions in Arusha?

Arusha Clock Tower marks the city center and is a handy landmark for orientation. Cultural Heritage Centre offers a look at local art, crafts, and history. Arusha National Park is a short drive away, with wildlife, forests, and views of Mount Meru. Meserani Snake Park is a good stop to see reptiles and learn about them.

What day trips can I take from Arusha?

Day trips from Arusha go to Ngorongoro Crater for its wildlife and scenery, Tarangire National Park for elephants and baobabs, and Materuni Waterfalls with a coffee tour and Kikuletwa Hot Springs. A Kilimanjaro day hike offers mountain views, while Serval Wildlife Sanctuary and a Maasai village tour combine wildlife and culture.

How many days do I need in Arusha?

Plan 3 to 4 days. In 2 days you can see the Arusha Clock Tower, Cultural Heritage Centre, and Arusha National Park. Add a third day for a full-day trip to Ngorongoro Crater or Tarangire National Park. If you also want a Kilimanjaro day hike, add a fourth day.
