**Extremely disappointing experience – Service far below 3-star standards. While looking for accommodation in Auckland today, I was reminded of my family’s stay at this property in late July/early August and felt compelled to share our experience. 1. The Positives: The location is convenient and the cleanliness of the room met our expectations. 2. Areas of Major Concern: + Service & Front Desk: Our check-in experience was remarkably unwelcoming. The female receptionist displayed an indifferent attitude and took an unnecessarily long time to retrieve a booking that had been confirmed nearly a month prior. Furthermore, when I reported multiple cracks in the bathroom sink to a male staff member, my concern was completely dismissed. +In-Room Connectivity: The Wi-Fi was non-functional upon arrival. Despite assurances from the front desk that it would be resolved within two hours, connection was only restored after two and a half days. +Dining Experience: Breakfast lacked variety, with virtually identical options served throughout our 7-night stay. The overall dining atmosphere and service resembled a low-budget eatery rather than a upscale hotel. * Despite being marketed as a 4 or 5-star hotel, our experience aligned more with a sub-2-star budget facility. The subpar customer service severely impacted our impression of the stay. I hope management takes these issues seriously to improve future guest experiences.

Stayed here for my special occasion using my Accor points. Honestly, I did not expect anything special and only wrote a simple note during the online check-in through the Accor app. The staff member, Carmel, noticed my note from the system and prepared a special treat in my room, which was a very thoughtful gesture. The room was nice, although I had slightly higher expectations, especially regarding a room upgrade. However, the room I received was still more than enough. I got a stunning view of the Waitematā Harbour and the iconic Britomart building, which made for a beautiful sunset and sunrise experience. The chocolate hour was definitely just okay, but the breakfast was decent. The staff were also very polite and kind throughout my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Mövenpick Hotel Auckland.

My overall experience was extremely disappointing, and the way the hotel has handled the disappearance of my belongings has significantly affected my perception of Mövenpick Auckland. During my stay, my $910 Celine sunglasses went missing while I was dining at BODA Lounge. I had removed them while eating out of respect for the dining experience and believe I placed them either on the table or on the spare chair between my colleague and me. When I returned to my room, I noticed they were missing almost immediately and reported the incident to hotel staff straight away. I have since made several attempts to have the matter properly investigated. The hotel confirmed that CCTV footage showed me wearing the sunglasses earlier in the evening but advised that the area where we were seated was not covered by its cameras. Despite this, the hotel has ultimately declined any responsibility for the loss, stating that there is no evidence of negligence or wrongdoing. What has disappointed me most is not simply the loss of an expensive personal item, but the lack of a satisfactory resolution and the feeling that the matter has been dismissed because the hotel's camera coverage cannot establish what happened. I understand that the hotel may not be able to determine exactly how the sunglasses disappeared, but I expected a more proactive, transparent and customer-focused approach to investigating the incident and addressing my concerns. As a paying hotel guest, I expected a higher standard of service and care. Instead, I have been left feeling unsupported, frustrated and out of pocket by $910, with no meaningful resolution despite reporting the loss promptly and making every reasonable effort to work with the hotel. Unfortunately, the way this situation has been managed has overshadowed my stay and substantially undermined my confidence in Mövenpick Auckland. I would have hoped that a hotel of this standing would demonstrate greater accountability, communication and commitment to resolving a guest's concerns. Based on this experience, I would have reservations about staying at the property again or recommending it to others.

We enjoyed a Junior Suite that was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a large variety of food available. Staff in all areas were very helpful and polite.

This is our first time staying with Movenpick Auckland. We have tried a few Accor hotels and wanted to try something different for our stay and also to celebrate our birthdays. Location wise it is convenient. It is right next to the Britomart train station and Commercial Bay so it was extremely handy. Going to and fro the airport was extremely easy. We were extremely lucky to have a welcome gift and room upgrade to acknowledge our celebrations. We stayed here for 4 nights. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfy. The have a cute addition of a library, yoga room and gym. Chocolate hour is ok. It’s a nice touch and would cater to those with a sweet tooth. However, we did have a few issues: 1. There was a misunderstanding during check-in where they advised that we had breakfast included, and I checked and confirmed with them at check-in to make sure and they said yes it was. It was quite awkward and embarrassing that we were told one thing and then was told another when we went to the restaurant for our breakfast. 2. We were not able to cast to the TVs in our rooms. We had large TVs in our room but could not connect. We told the front desk and they said it should be easy and we knew it should be easy but it couldn’t work. They sent someone up which we appreciated but they too could not cast. Eventually they had to get us to move rooms because it couldn’t work. We were moved to a similar room on a lower floor so we could hear the commotion on the street at night. 3. No sauna or pool. Gym is small. 4. Room service was done late in the evening about 4-5pm? We were in our room ready to head off to our evening activities. And the man was very sweaty and smelly. So it left a lingering musty smell.

Had a lovely girls weekend at movenpick Auckland. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Our room had a lovely selection of treats as a welcome gift. Chocolate hour was very busy, but had a good selection. The 2 staff (sometimes only 1) at the bar were hugely under the pump all evening they were so good and had such a great attitude, and the attention to detail with garnishing the drinks was spot on! just felt they were understaffed for the amount of people. We were told we couldn't have a table in the restaurant as they were fully booked(maybe they were staggering tables due to staffing issues?) so we ordered off the bar menu, the loaf filled with cheesy sauce was so good as was the Korean fried chicken, unfortunately our fish and chips was disappointing the chips were undercooked and the fish was inedible due the strong taste and smell. Our room was on the 11th floor above queen Street and although there was no hallway noise there was a bit of street noise and also some internal noise such as flushing toilets. However we had amazing sleeps in the very comfortable beds! Also must say it's super easy to get to the hotel if you are using puplic transport as the are pretty much above britomart station.

Was recommended this hotel by my travel agent. Loved its central location within Britomart with easy access to all of the attractions, shopping and excellent restaurants in Auckland between Britomart out to Viaduct Harbour and even up to Sky Tower. All easily walkable from the Hotel. This was super handy in the 5 nights I was here as 70% of my stay was raining. Did not have far to trudge to anywhere in the rain Rooms were not lavish or luxurious but were clean and comfortable. Service was fine. Few niggly issues on check in which was promptly addressed The "gym" was rather sparse but there are a few commercial gyms in the area with day passes if it is something you need. I personally dropped into the Les Mills gym a block away Restaurant and Bar on the 13th level had great views and drinks + food menu. Well worth a couple of visits 😊 I did not try their buffet breakfast as we are near some excellent cafes the likes of the Store, Amano and the Daily Bread. However, I hear the breakfast buffet is very extensive

We had a pleasant stay overall. The location was fantastic, being right above the train station, which made getting around Auckland really convenient. We also really enjoyed the chocolate hour — it was a lovely touch and something we looked forward to. There were a few small things that could have been smoother. When we arrived early before check-in to store our luggage, we were asked to tag our bags and move them to the luggage area ourselves. It wasn't a big issue, but we were a little surprised. On checkout, the staff were happy to help with our bags, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, we found two cockroaches in our room on the first night (photos/video attached), which was disappointing. One of them was hiding in a small gap underneath the furniture in our original room. The replacement room we were moved to didn't have the same gap, so hopefully this helps the hotel identify any potential hiding spots. We reported it to reception and, while it took a little while to get an update, the team did move us to another room with more space and provided complimentary breakfast for two. We appreciated that they took the issue seriously and tried to make things right. Overall, there were many things we enjoyed about our stay — the location, chocolate hour, and friendly staff were all highlights. The cockroach incident was unfortunate and did affect our experience, but we appreciated the way the hotel handled it and hope it can be addressed for future guests.
