I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member who had high expectations of my stay at Le Meridian Barcelona considering the hefty price tag. However, the reality of our accommodations left much to be desired. We booked for one night prior to boarding a Mediterranean cruise. The location is amazing - in the heart of La Rambla and within walking distance of plenty of shopping, dining, etc. The bellhops are amazing and extremely attentive. The hotel staff were friendly and pleasant. The reason for my three star review is the accommodations. We stayed in a twin bed room. The room was very small and barely big enough to accommodate the beds. My cousin's duvet had a stain on it. Overall, the hotel could use an upgrade. The lights went out in my room and the room next to mine. It took two visits to the hotel lobby to get that rectified. The lobby is very small, so it would be difficult to offer much within the space. We just accepted that we were paying the price for the location and not the amenities. For nearly $700 USD for one night, the hotel definitely didn't live up to expectations. Currently rounding out our trip at another Marriott property near the Barcelona airport and for a fraction of the price the quality is 10x better. I plan to come back to Barcelona and will likely stay in the same area but would definitely not stay in the same place.

Le Meriden is a very good three star hotel; surely not a five stars. This is not Le Méridien standard at all. I was expecting a minimum but not what I discovered this week. - Very very very expensive for nothing. Super expensive and not worth it. - The hotel staff doesn’t the training of a Marriott Bonvoy standard. - Rooms are way too small to fit two beds. - Sound prof is null. Expect to hear your neighbors laugh, breathe, talk or take a shower. - Hotel lobby doesn’t have the amenities of a Méridien, not even water - as an elite Marriott member you are not upgraded, not offered free amenities and not pampered as such. - cleaning the rooms is way below standard; my room was not vacuum for the week. - corridors are dirty - Water in the rooms is not refilled generously - Internet is slow and disconnects every day - the lobby cafe is not attended to. No drinks are served or orders taken in the lobby.

This is probably a 4 star hotel by American standards. The rooms are a little on the basic side and the amenities while nice are not exactly luxurious; and there was a musty smell in the elevators and hallways. We also had a leak in the bathroom, which took a couple of tries to fix over 2 days. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and the buffet breakfast was excellent. If the price is right, I’d stay there again as the location is very convenient to walk or catch the metro to many places and it is overall a decent hotel.

Great service. Location was really good despite the construction on La Ramblas.

Pros location and the most hospitable staff specifically the valet team and concierge. The lunch we had at the hotel was not enjoyable. Serve was nice. Cons rooms! My|Room looked nothing like the pics. I am a gold elite member and with the upgrade they stated I was in a remodeled room. Room 127. If that is the case unfortunate. While I appreciate the king size bed, way too big for the room no space. Furnished like a Moxy. Thank goodness I was not in the room a lot, but when my husband and I came in at the end of the day hard to maneuver with our luggage as we had been in Spain for a while. I would definitely look to try another property before I tried this one again.

Le meridien Barcelona was amazing! My husband and I are Marriott snobs but never would have imagined this one. First, they upgraded our room to the most beautiful I’ve ever stayed in. With our own terrace with sunbeds and an outdoor shower. Like a honeymoon suite! How did they know we’d be celebrating our 1 year anniversary? They didn’t - they just gave us their 5 star 🌟 treatment. The restaurant was also fabulous! Their complementary breakfast (in lieu of points) was really excellent dinners there were fantastic too. Service in the hotel and restaurant were 5 star!

Another excellent stay at a Marriott property. The Le Meridien has a great staff, from the housekeeping folks, front desk, security and restaurant; all friendly, helpful, welcoming. Three stars for the room due to an odd kind of useless space left after the room renovation. It is too bad they didn't figure out how to make the room space larger, instead of leaving this area between the bathroom and the entry door wall of the room. Right on La Rambla, the location can't be beat. We did breakfast every day - excellent. We did miss having a pool, and the small lobby area was almost always full of people sitting around waiting to check in, check out, full of luggage - it just was always cluttered with people and things. The one time we did go up to use the spa, it was closed for a private event - first time I have experienced that. Enjoy your stay.

Although I wasn't staying at the hotel as a guest, I spent four days at Le Méridien Barcelona while attending a business event that our company hosted there. Everything was literally perfect from start to finish. The event facilities were excellent, the staff were consistently professional, friendly, and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was outstanding. The dining experience was exceptional, with delicious food and great variety, and the coffee was among the best I've had at a hotel. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to enjoy everything Barcelona has to offer. Even without staying overnight, I was able to experience the hotel's service and hospitality extensively, and I was thoroughly impressed. Highly recommended.
