Excellent Location and Views A very pleasant stay at the InterContinental Budapest. The location is exceptional, with stunning views across the Danube towards Buda Castle and Budapest’s key landmarks. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are excellent, and the overall room experience was very good. Breakfast offered a good selection, although more variety would be appreciated for guests staying several days. There is some noise from the nightlife opposite the hotel until around midnight, but it was manageable. The wellness facilities were below expectations for a five-star property. The steam and sauna area is quite compact, and the pool was unfortunately under maintenance during our stay. Some enhancement of the wellness area would elevate the overall experience. Overall, an excellent choice for its prime location, spectacular views, and comfortable rooms, with a few areas where the experience could be further improved.

I stayed here during a business trip to Budapest this September and had a genuinely fantastic time from start to finish. The riverside location is brilliant, and the scenery over the Danube and the castle is absolutly breathtaking day and night. Watching the city light up from my window after a long day of meetings was a very unique experience that made the entire visit so special. The hotel has a wonderful, classic atmosphere with top-tier service, and every member of the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable and productive stay. Between the comfortable room, convenient amenities, and unmatched panoramas of the river, this place truly exceeded all my expectations. I will definitely be booking another stay here whenever work brings me back to Hungary.

I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Budapest. The location is perfect, with stunning riverside views. I stayed in the Queen Riverside Suite, which was spacious, luxurious, and very comfortable. The food was excellent, and having full access to the Club Lounge made the stay even more special. We absolutely enjoyed our four day stay at the Intercontinental. The location was exceptional for easy access to the Danube, local transport, and viewing the St Steven’s Day celebration. Much is said about the room needing updates, but while they could be modernized a bit, I think it might take away from the welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff. The beds, shower, and other room amenities were quite satisfactory. We had Lounge access. Anges, your staff is awesome. They were so welcoming to us foreigners in your beautiful country. Thanks to everyone on the team!

I had another amazing experience staying at InterContinental Budapest. The location is unbeatable, right next to the river and the tram line, offering stunning views of Buda Castle. I arrived at the hotel around 11:00 PM feeling exhausted, but Anna at the front desk was super kind, polite, and processed my check-in and payment quickly. When I got to my room, I was quite hungry but didn't want a heavy meal late at night. To my pleasant surprise, there were small pogacas and a fresh nectarine waiting for me, exactly the thoughtful touch I needed! The amenities were top-notch as well. The indoor pool and sauna were fantastic for relaxing, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely incredible with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. Every member of the staff was helpful, attentive, and made sure we were having a great time throughout our stay. Thank you to the team for everything! Highly recommended.

My stay at InterContinental Budapest was absolutely outstanding and one of the best hotel experiences I had in the city. The location is exceptional, right on the banks of the Danube River and within walking distance of many of Budapest’s most iconic landmarks. The views from the hotel are simply spectacular, especially overlooking the river, the Chain Bridge, and the illuminated Buda Castle at night. The rooms were elegant, comfortable, and very well maintained, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere after a day of exploring the city. What impressed me most was the breathtaking riverfront setting. Waking up with panoramic views of Budapest made the stay even more memorable. The service was professional and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt refined and peaceful. Overall, a fantastic hotel in Budapest elegant, perfectly located, and offering unforgettable views of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

The location is definitely the strongest point of this hotel. It is in one of the best areas of Budapest, directly facing the Danube and the Chain Bridge, with many of the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas within easy walking distance. If you want to explore Budapest on foot, the location is hard to beat. The hotel itself is quite old, although in some areas this actually gives it a pleasant vintage and classic atmosphere rather than simply feeling dated. The bar, in particular, has a lot of character, and the live piano player in the evening creates a very nice and elegant atmosphere. That said, some parts of the property would definitely benefit from renovation. The room I was given felt particularly old, with dated electrical plugs, an older bathroom, and furnishings and details that could use some updating. The difference between the charm of the public areas and the condition of some of the rooms is quite noticeable. Breakfast could also be improved. The selection felt somewhat basic for a hotel of this level, and the breakfast area could be better organized, as at times it felt a little messy and chaotic. A wider selection, better presentation, and more attention to the overall breakfast experience would make a significant difference. Overall, the hotel has undeniable charm and an exceptional location, but the rooms and breakfast experience need some attention to match the standard you would expect from such a prestigious property. Despite the shortcomings, the location remains the key reason to stay here: waking up in front of the Danube and Chain Bridge and being able to reach almost everything on foot is a major advantage.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the InterContinental Budapest from December 26 to December 29, and this is our review. We are young couple in our mid 20s We really loved the view from the 9th floor facing the river — it was amazing. The Club Lounge was very good, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. At the reception, David was very professional and friendly. The rooms might be a little old-fashioned, but they are comfortable. The hotel is in a great central location. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh squeezed juices. The selection of alcoholic drinks in the Club Lounge was impressive.
