Over the past 20 years, Hotel Alexandra in Copenhagen has carefully sourced a large collection of world-famous Danish mid-century vintage furniture, and decorated its 61 rooms with them. Combined with textiles, wallpapers and other period gems, we take you back in time to experience living like the design-loving Danes did in the 50s and 60s.

As soon as you step into the Hotel Alexandra in Copenhagen, you enter a magical time bubble of exquisite Danish design and calm. In the evening you can relax in the lobby, choose a favourite vinyl record from our selection, or delve into some design books from the library, while we serve you a complimentary glass of wine – all the while being surrounded by the finest Danish designer furniture. Chose hotel Alexandra for our girls trip through Finland and Norway that ended in Copenhagen. We chose it for location and price and were not sure what to expect. It is Fantastic! Location is walking distance to so much including University, Tivloli and more. The decor is simple, clean and very creative with era themed rooms throughout. Beds so comfortable too! The staff could not be friendlier. Do not let concerns of street noise stop you from staying as the window are solid and block the noise. HIGHLY recommend the hotel breakfast. It was outstanding. Delicious and hearty ( try the sampler plate) to fuel for a day of sightseeing. Loved everything about this hotel.

A sense of history? Old fashioned in a good way. Impressive view from street. Spacious lobby. Room also spacious, comfortable beds. Good shower, although I personally don’t like curtains. Minor details needed fixing, a plug and loosening door handle to toilet. Friendly staff. Very good location. Breakfast available. My choice not to have it here but looked very good. Tivoli five minutes. Stroget Main Street, opposite, down there to Nyhavn.

We were extremely pleased with the hotel. We stayed in the junior suite (#560) which was spacious and superbly appointed. Comfortable bed. Nordic design furniture was beautiful and functional. The bathroom was fabulous with a large shower and soaking tub! The water was a bit of an inconvenience as often only hot water came out of the sink tap and the flow for the tub was very slow, but the pros well outweighed the cons. It was lovely to have 3 windows to open and let in fresh air. The hotel is on a busy street but the noise was not heard when the windows were closed. Great location - walking distance from Tivoli and central station. Also the neighborhood across the main street was lively - great cafes, restaurants, and shops (including several vintage/resale shops!). We did not eat the breakfast but it looked delicious and was popular. The free wine reception at 5pm was a nice perk! They also rent bikes for those who want to brave the Copenhagen bicycle scene. A great stay and highly recommend!

Location is very good. The staff very friendly and helpful. But beyond that. The price does not match what you get and it's certainly not a 4-star hotel. Our room was extremely noisy, there's no soundproofing, most of the wall sockets did not work, the aircondition did not work... After complaining they did change our room to one at the back of the hotel, it was more quiet.. so there's that. Furniture is shown off as vintage design however it was just worn and out dated. Dirty pillows and carpets. The bathrooms are very worn and dated, things hanging off the walls.. The elevator didn't work any of the days either.

IMO it is not a 4 star hotel. I understand that their target audience may love the retro fixtures and fittings and these are all very well if they work ok. The door on the bureau did not lock or stay in place, the tap for the bath could not be used as it shot out water from the joints and the shower head linked to the taps would not move up and down the rod. The bed was good, very comfortable. Average levels of cleanliness, e.g. tops of the skirting boards, light fittings etc were all dusty and dust was shedding onto surfaces as you used them. The carpet is horrid too, it like some hard nylon surface with some old bits stuck into it. The staff are all lovely and OMG the breakfast is outstanding! Air con is effective. Location is good for Tivoli Gardens, the railway station and some great restaurants. I would not stay again though.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a double room but got given 2 single beds pushed together. I went for a bath on the first night and the drainage came up through the floor and wet everything on the floor. Same when we showered the next morning. We alerted reception and moved rooms eventually. The location is perfect. Breakfast is very busy with people queuing to the point we had to walk in the road to get round them. There is 1 teabag in each room and maybe a dirty coffee machine if you're lucky. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

The room is good . The space is not that big. But the decoration is very impressive. Love the chair they have got into the hotel. Also love the wine time during 5pm-6pm . You can only take one glass. Also the coffee machine is available at the lobby
