We had a fantastic family holiday at Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar and would happily return. After arriving very late (around 11 p.m.), we were genuinely touched to find that dinner had been prepared for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture after a long day of travelling. The staff also quickly arranged a beautiful wooden baby cot with a comfortable mattress – honestly the best hotel baby cot we’ve ever had. The food was excellent, and having snacks available throughout the day made travelling with a toddler so much easier. We never had to worry about finding something for our daughter to eat, which allowed us to truly relax. The entire team was incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. Maro World was a wonderful surprise and our daughter really enjoyed it. If I could suggest a few improvements, I would love to see more shaded areas around the pool, especially for families with young children, as well as a small shallow splash pool for toddlers. These additions would make an already great family hotel even better. Thank you to the whole team for making us feel so welcome. We are already planning our next visit to Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar!

nice stay for two days, the room fee includes breakfast and dinner every day, hotel has own swimming pool but very busy, pass through pool you can find a public Beach. but unfortunately there are no any supermarkets nearby hotel expect for a Chinese restaurant. air conditioner can't work, it's very hot in the afternoon，the staff only suggests to open the window, it looks crazy

Sunny by Valamar is a lovely place to stay, we are currently here with our 21 month old. It’s classed as 3 star but I’d say it would be a 4 if it wasn’t for the rooms. The hotel itself is lovely and so are all of the staff both around the hotel and in the restaurants. The food selection is great, with a selection of meats and fish, as well as pizza and pastas for little people or fussy eaters. The snacks are usually sandwiches and burger/fries! Cocktails are nice, if you like an Aperol, ask with lemonade - it’s a bit too sour tasting otherwise. Location wise it’s perfect, they have access with slopes and lifts to areas! The beach is a short walk but the best compared to the other Valamar hotels. The pool has two slide which little ones love, they go into a toddler pool and then there’s a larger one. The beach is lovely - we just sat on towels as we didn’t feel we needed to pay for the Sun beds. Pool towels are 2 euros each, you can keep all week or replace (2 euros to replace each towel at a time. The maro world is amazing and the whole area for children is incredible. It’s so family friendly. A bus a short walk away, to old town. Bus number 6, last stop on there. To return get a ticket at the kiosk in town or you’ll be waiting for no reason. It’s about 15/20 minutes. Old town is beautiful and areas that are pushchair friendly. Some have steps but as with a little one you accept you won’t be doing too much exploring unless you have a carrier. The rooms, this would be the one thing that not necessarily let’s it down but they do need a little TLC - the cupboard have a funky smell and could be painted and doors changed to give a more premium feel. Plus a hard floor, it’s currently carpeted. We haven’t put our clothes in there purely so they don’t smell. If these were renovated I think this would make the hotel exceed and really uplift it. Everywhere else is lovely though. We are travelling with a baby as mentioned so a basic room is fine for us, but if you are looking for a luxury room it’s not at this hotel (maybe one of the sister ones). Overall it’s a very family friendly setting with high chairs, disposable bibs and friendly staff. Recommend a superior room if travelling with a baby or toddler purely for the extra room as they can seem small otherwise. If you need a cot bed its an additional €5 a night!

We had perfect time at this child and family friendly hotel. The sea is crystal clear, Our favorite beach is Coral beach..The pool is convenient for everybody. Food and drink are so good, and a playroom Maro World is unbelievable with content for children, and is totally free... The price is very good for service which we had. This is our second year here, and we are very satisfied! Our recommendation for families with children.

The staff was certainly the strong point of this hotel. Everyone friendly and assisting. Amazing sea views as well as very satisfactory pool area. Clean and very well maintained. Beach is a 1 minute walk from the hotel which is a major advantage!

We loved our stay at Sunny Hotel. The staff is very friendly and would always greet and smile at you. (: Our room was clean, lovely and had a wonderful view. The best thing in this hotel is Maro World if you are traveling with kids. It is their paradise there. Amazing staff, educational and fun games. There is even a Theater, Disco and cartoon nights. Overall, I highly recommend staying at this place if you are traveling with kids.

Where do I start? All the staff were really nice and were always cleaning and making the hotel look good. Reception staff were friendly and polite and checking in and out were easy. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Nice surprise getting an upgrade. Food was as good as the food we had on an Ambassador Cruise last year. Your gardens and grounds were immaculate and it was lovely to see so many cats and even a tortoise in the grounds. The weather was fantastic too and we enjoyed your pool and bar facilities too. Bus station and local shops, restaurants and bars nearby and bus prices were reasonable. We visited the Old Town. We didn’t go on City Walls but saw them. Tip go earlier in day as the Old Town gets very busy. Loved the harbour/port areas too. If I could I would certainly award Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar a 4 star or above rating.

I recently stayed here and had an overall great experience. If you are looking at this property, it helps to understand the layout: this hotel is actually the first in a line of three sister properties all run by the Valamar group. This one is a 3-star, the neighboring Tirena is a 4-star, and the Lacroma next to that is a 5-star. While it might be the lowest star rating of the three on paper, it absolutely wins when it comes to location and layout. The poolside area and the view from the restaurant here are completely unmatched—honestly better than what you get at the higher-starred properties next door! Gazing out over the sunny Dubrovnik coast while eating was a daily highlight. Speaking of eating, the food here was consistently good with a nice variety. The only real downside is that the rooms are a bit outdated and could use a modern refresh. However, everything was clean and functional. If you want luxury rooms, pay the premium for the neighboring properties. But if you want the best views, great food, and a wonderful pool setup, this place offers incredible value. You truly get a bit more than what you paid for!
