This was exactly what we needed for our short trip. We stayed one night here but I think this hotel can be ideal for more than one night. The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful with everything - it wasn't our first time in Ghent so we know our way around but they did check with us and we're prepared to tell us about the city. The reviews did not lie about the breakfast. It is so good. Everything is super fresh, tasty and filling. I would book again just for the breakfast, it's also great value for money. The bed was comfortable, the Aircon in the room was working properly which was important as we came during a heatwave. They also have parking but we came on a motorbike so didn't need to use it. I would definitely recommend especially since we tried many other hotels in Ghent and in Belgium. This is also great location as it's super close to the center but quiet enough for a much needed rest in the evening. I would book again.

I feel cheated by the hotel. There is a smelly construction site (Sep 2026, going on for months) right in front of the hotel. This prevents easy unloading and creates smells. At the reception they would first book us in a room towards this mess although other rooms were available. The rooms are small and the bathrooms tiny and hard to use. None of that is being disclosed on the website. I feel that made us overpay for the room for about 20%. This is also true for the breakfast, which is available but not good. The hotel has some sort of charm and was kept up since its construction around 1980. The design of the rooms is special.

Booked as an overnight stop from UK to Amsterdam. Hotel was great. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Would have liked a kettle and cups in room but not a big issue.

Response from the property

Dear Mado, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us after your recent overnight stay. We are delighted that you appreciated the kind assistance from our reception team and found your room to be well maintained. It is rewarding to know our efforts to provide a comfortable environment left a positive impression. However, we acknowledge your remarks regarding the availability of certain items for preparing hot drinks. Please know that kettles are available upon request at the reception, and our team is always happy to provide them during your stay. Finally, it is wonderful to hear you enjoyed a restful night thanks to the quality of the bedding. Your satisfaction with our Sweet Beds by ibis means a great deal to us. We would love to welcome you back on a future occasion. Kind regards, Patriek Deruddere

We come in Ghent quite often from London but we never stayed in Ibis hotel here. This was our first time and it was such a great stay . The reception staff were all very nice and polite, the room was as expected and the breakfast was top notch, value for money and so many options to choose from and you could also squeeze your oranges for orange juice ! Haven't seen this type of breakfast even at many 5 star hotels around. Location obviously perfect,if you're a biker you could leave your bike on the pavement 1 street down. Everything is within 8-10 mins from here. Upon checkout we gave our staff to be held and we relaxed in the air conditioned lobby area , absolutely alone and great music. Toilets also available after checkout. We will visit again very soon !

The room size although small however very well designed and practical. The room is clean and bright and some of the facilities are very thoughtful. The location is 10 minutes walk to most of Ghent's attractions which is excellent. The price is affordable.

The location is great. But it was the most pricey (160/ night) for belgium and the most basic hotel I've ever been to. No fridge, no kettle, no face towels (just body towels). It is ok if the price is lower than others, go for it. If u spend more money go somewhere else

Response from the property

Dear Βενετία, Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. We’re delighted you found our central location convenient for exploring Ghent’s attractions and services. That said, we sincerely apologize that your experience fell short in some areas. Our goal is to provide straightforward comforts at competitive rates, and we regret any impression that our offerings didn’t align with your anticipated value. For future stays, we recommend consulting our direct booking channels for exclusive member rates and package deals. Nonetheless, our team takes pride in being recognized as a friendly hub for urban explorers. The accessibility of transport links from our doorstep remains a key advantage many guests appreciate. We hope to be able to welcome you back on a return visit for an improved experience. Best regards, Cindy Cornelis, General Manager

A great place to stay overall. The air conditioning was a huge plus, especially during the heat wave. The location is good, with many attractions within walking distance, and the area is quiet. The only downside is that the rooms are quite small.

Response from the property

Dear Reza, Thank you for reviewing your visit to our hotel. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that the cooling system provided comfort during the warm weather. Knowing that you found the area peaceful only adds to our satisfaction. While space in most rooms is limited, the overall design aims to offer convenience and functionality for our guests. Finally, it is very pleasing to hear that our convenient setting close to many well-loved attractions added value to your visit. We all hope to welcome you back in the future. Best wishes, Patriek Deruddere
