It's a nice hostel located between the station and the castle - short walks to both. The staff was friendly and reached out to me on Whatsapp to check where I was because I got late in my arrival - which was cute. There are lot of food places around, so that was great. Bed was comfy and I slept well. I had read about the room layout, so can't complain, but for those unaware, sharing this- It's basically a big hall with the capsule type beds, the girls room is a door from one end, and the washbasins, toilets and bathrooms are on the other side - basically one huge area. The layout felt a little weird - a bit exposed. But I was okay considering I was there for a night only.

Unfortunately, not a very good hostel to stay in. Location is great but if you know other hostels in Japan you notice a huge difference: there is no kitchen nor common room, smoke gets from the bar to the dorms and the bathrooms were dirty when i was there. Reviewing my stay on booking.com got me this answer (see image) so that explains a lot..

Aside from somebody closing the windows in the evening, making it very hot (not the hostel's fault), it well located and has comfortable beds. Side note: I will never understand why some people are afraid of fresh air when sleeping.

Very close to the train station & main touristic attractions (only 15 minutes walk from the castle) 🏯 I stayed in the women's only dormitory and it was marvellous. There were 2 towels, one sheet mask given (🥹 so nice) and in the shower room shampoo/conditioner/body soap. The place feels very spacious and the beds are comfortable. There is a nice common room, two fridges, a boiler, coffee and tea. There are even toothbrushes if you forget yours :) I also met lovely people there. Anyway, I loved my stay here, I almost wished I would've stayed longer in Himeji!

ONE HOSTEL Himeji is a friendly and well-located hostel, situated perfectly between the train station and Himeji Castle. Guests sleep in dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds or box-style spaces. Facilities include clean washrooms, towels and toothbrushes, showers with soap and shampoo provided, and, of course, toilets. There is also a kettle with free coffee and tea, as well as a small common lounge area to relax in or eat. Personal belongings can be stored in lockers, and luggage storage (not in the boxes, but in the hostel) is possible even after check-out, which is very convenient. The staff are kind and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is pleasant.
