Waikiki Beachside Hostel

June through September is the sweet spot: warm 28-29°C days, lower humidity, and only 6-7 rain days per month. March and April are the rainiest stretch with 14 rain days each, though temps stay mild. Winter months are still pleasant but bring more humidity and occasional showers. Any time works for beach weather, but summer offers the most consistent sun.

Waikiki suits most visitors with beach access and resort hotels like The Royal Hawaiian and Halekulani. Downtown and Chinatown are good for history lovers, with Iolani Palace nearby and a mix of local eateries. Kahala is a quieter residential choice, ideal for a relaxed stay, anchored by The Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Start with Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the USS Arizona Memorial to honor the history. See Iolani Palace, the only royal palace on U.S. soil. Catch the Halona Blowhole Lookout for the natural surf show, then relax at Waikīkī Beach or stroll Ala Moana Regional Park. Tantalus Lookout offers a sweeping city view.

From Honolulu, day trips on Oahu include the Dole Plantation and Haleiwa on the North Shore, the circle island tour with Waimea Falls and Byodo-In temple, and a tour that combines waterfalls, food trucks, and scenic lookouts. These trips cover different parts of the island and can be done in a full day.

Plan for 4 days: 3 days cover the main sights, including Pearl Harbor National Memorial, Iolani Palace, Waikiki Beach, and Halona Blowhole Lookout. Use the extra day for a full-day tour to the North Shore or a circle island trip with Waimea Falls and Byodo-In Temple.
