Wow! The hospitality from Spomenka was truly second to none, she is so welcoming and friendly and knows everyone on the island!! From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble, we had a studio at the top of the steps (great exercise 😊) the air-conditioning was very efficient and always on, the room was spotlessly clean and had all we needed for our 8 day stay. Certainly one of the best hosts we have stayed with. The views are amazing and in terms of value for money, could not be beaten! Definitely recommend and hope to stay again!! |A short walk into town and very close to lovely beaches with great facilities, bars and restaurants. Wonderful place! ☺️♥️

We stayed at J&B Holiday House in Hvar for 4-nights in late-Apr ($127 Can). We booked the “Studio Apartment with Stunning Views” through Airbnb. J&B is on the edge of Hvar, a couple of bays further down the coast and perched up a hillside away from the water. The complex consists of a large building with a number of apartments (the owner and her family live on the bottom floor, so someone is always around if you need something) fronted by a small pool (sadly empty when we were there), with our unit in separate buildings behind (adjacent to the next street up). It is a 20-30 min walk along the waterfront promenade but, with luggage, take a taxi (€20). Our studio was small, but with a convenient kitchen and plenty of space for clothes in a stand-alone cabinet and a drawer under the bed. The views from the two balconies were breath-taking, exactly as depicted. There was a market a 5-min walk away; unfortunately, there were no restaurants nearby (the one above the market had been gutted), so a walk into town past the Hula Hula Bar is required. Spomenka was a delight, with a warm welcome, helpful tips and, when we asked about laundry, she did it herself and delivered it dry and folded – incredibly thoughtful! Overall, great value at a very reasonable price. Recommended if you want a bit of quiet away from the summer party atmosphere in old town.

Our 5 people family stayed at J&Bs for a week, 2017, late July. The apartment was of good standards with two bathrooms. The view from the balcony was very nice! The host family was really good to us in many ways; arranged for breakfast a couple of days, helped us book a boat trip and fixed transportation from and to the airport. Nothing seemed to be a problem! Many thanks "Poma" and your family! We really appreciated your kindness and the service!/Family Harald from Sweden

We stayed for a week with kids. The apartment where perfect, magnificent view from the balcony, AC and fully equipped. The family that run the place are so nice and helpful. They gave us lots of great tips. The closest beach is a calm and not crowded place. (Bring lunch and snacks there's no restaurants at the beach). Tip rent a car and see more of the island and eat at restaurants away from Hvar city center. The town Hvar is a beautiful town to stroll in, lots of alleys to see.|The apartment is situated just outside Hvar town. (It's easy to find taxis). This fitted us perfectly as we needed some peace and quiet.|Be prepared to walk lots of stairs, but the view is worth it. |We had a great experience of Hvar and J&B Holiday House. Recommend it!

I would go back! Our family of four spent a week here in the one bedroom apartment with 2 patios. The apartment was comfortable for the four of us, had nice a/c, wifi, and the beds were comfy. The kitchen was well equipped, and both the smaller and larger patio had wonderful views. We cooked most of our meals for dinner and ate outside on the patio. Their pool was small, but lovely, with gorgeous views as well. The walk to the beach was just a few minutes down a hiking path, and additional beaches nearer to town were about a 15 minute walk. There is also a grocer just a few minute walk away. The family was welcoming and took great care of us! It was a great place for our family! We did not have a car, and it worked just fine.
