Had a very pleasant time at Ambassador Garden Home. The hotel has a unique charm with beautiful Newari-style architecture, and every corner seems to tell a story. It’s also a great location if you want to explore Thamel on foot. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Overall, a lovely place with genuine hospitality.

If you appreciate traditional Newari style, this hotel is an essential place to stay in Kathmandu. It’s centrally situated in Thamel, close to shops, currency exchanges, and trekking agencies. The atmosphere throughout the hotel, including the rooms, is truly stunning—calm, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful details. Landmarks like Swoyambhunath and the Kumari Temple at Kathmandu Durbar Square are easily accessible within about 30 minutes by local taxi. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making the stay even better. Every corner of the property feels like stepping back into the year 1925.

The owner needs to learn some basic hospitality and customer service manners. I paid 8,000 in cash for the first night's stay. The room was booked under my name. On the second day, while my wife and sister-in-law were leaving for the airport, the owner wrongly accused my sister-in-law of trying to leave without paying. If there was any concern about the payment, it should have been discussed with me, as the room was booked under my name, not with my sister-in-law. This was extremely embarrassing and unprofessional, especially in front of my family. It showed a complete lack of basic work ethics and customer service. I expected to be treated with more respect and professionalism.

Such a beautiful, newly renovated hotel with authentic Nepali traditional architecture in Thamel, Kathmandu. I had a wonderful stay. Staffs were respectful, food was very good and room was neat and comfy. The evening view from the room window was absolutely beautiful. I had a fantastic stay this time as well and already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you AGH team for making my trip memorable.

If you’re looking for a cozy and relaxing place to stay, I highly recommend Ambassador Garden Home 🌿✨ The rooms are very clean and well-maintained, making it feel comfortable and homey 🛏️💖 The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help and make your stay even better One of the highlights is definitely the food — absolutely delicious 🍽️ Every meal feels special with great taste and quality Overall, it’s a wonderful place with great service, comfort, and tasty food. An outstanding stay and easily one of our favourites. Beautiful rooms, a charming courtyard, and exceptional service create an atmosphere like a luxury retreat within a living museum. We stayed in the Heritage Deluxe, which was truly breathtaking. The family-run nature of the hotel, with the owner often present, adds a warm and personal touch. Don’t miss the rooftop city views, daily special activities, and excellent food. Every detail is thoughtfully curated — a genuinely unforgettable experience.

What a beautiful, newly renovated hotel with authentic Nepali traditional architecture, located in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. I had a wonderful stay.
