Upon arriving in Kunming, Yunnan Province, I booked this hotel through an online platform and had a wonderful experience. The hotel enjoys a prime location close to the city center, with a metro station right at its entrance. The South Asian Business District is directly opposite. Soluxe Hotel maintains excellent hygiene standards. Eric from the front desk was friendly, attentive and highly efficient. I would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Yunnan.

Won’t be back for sure. No one speaks English. Mix up in room reservation which required extra time to sort out. This after calling ahead to confirm. Late shift team doesn’t communicate to early shift. Room service says they would check on a question and call back but NO call received but order goes in and food is delivered. Total rubbish service.

I traveled to Kunming for a two day business trip and stayed at the Soluxe Hotel. Our reservations were handled promptly and our rooms were all ready in advance of our early arrival. The three persons at the front desk spoke little to no English at all and we were fortunate that one of our business partners speak fluent Mandarin as I would have had trouble communicating with my limited Chinese. The room was spacious, clean and with all appropriate amenities. The view was exceptional from the 29th floor [my room]. The weather was great making for good pictures during both the day and at night. The staff shared smiles frequently as I made my way about the hotel. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate--with much selection in a clean and bright setting. The food quality was very good--fresh, hot as appropriate and plentiful. Prompt service for drinks was an added feature. For a short business stay I found this hotel acceptable. It would be more attractive to non-native Mandarin speakers if there was at least one semi-fluent English speaker on each shift at the reception/check-in area.

Very nice hotel. Location was convincing for my plan. Tasty and variety breakfast. Sufficient restaurants nearby. Street foods are in close proximity. Shopping and visiting places to enjoy is close. Subway exit at hotel front was closed. Little problem with three air con. But don’t think too much as air temperature in Kunming is nice. It was 38th floor and view of lake was pleasing

I was puzzled as to why I could not find this hotel on booking sites and discovered that it was rated 100+. The only major strike is possibly its location in the new part of the city. It’s a hotel in a mall cum shopping centre. Which tells you that it’s built in a go-go era that is gone. My deluxe room at 39th floor was large and comfortable. One wall of the toilet has glass with a curtain. There is a bathtub and a shower stall. There’s a humidifier and a tea set. The were plenty of wall plugs, albeit not with USB outlets in newer places. Breakfast was fine although it was the same throughout. I had a very enjoyable stay. If you are reading this, and price is a slight concern, I wrote say to go for it.
