Stay in the Old Town of Lijiang for the classic maze of canals and Naxi architecture, ideal for first-timers. Shuhe Ancient Town, a quieter neighbor, suits those wanting a more relaxed base. The Bivou Lijiang and Holiday Inn resort are in Shuhe, while Jun Bo Boutique Guesthouse and ANYU Hotel are near the old town's south gate.

What are the must-see attractions in Lijiang?

What day trips can I take from Lijiang?

From Lijiang, full-day tours head to Shangri-La, where you can see Tibetan monasteries and highland scenery, and to Tiger Leaping Gorge, a dramatic river canyon.
