DO NOT BOOK HERE. Receptionist tried to scam us. Asked us to pay her a ‘mandatory’ tip to use the hotels wifi and water. We proved the booking was fully paid, she even showed us a document which clarified we had paid in full and did not need to pay any additional taxes or fees. Yet she would not let us check in without paying her a ‘tip’ our booking agent said this was wrong and cancelled the booking for us so we could stay elsewhere. Avoid this place as it is a scam.

The hotel is cozy and clean. The staff is incredibly kind, there was an issue with my breakfast on my reservation and they solved it in a matter of minutes. Totally recommended!!

This hotel offered great value for money. It is no-frills, but my room had everything I needed just around the corner from my conference venue, the Swisshotel, for a fraction of the price that they were charging (USD 320 including airport taxi @ USD 40). The breakfast buffet was good, but after day 1, you can probably find cheaper options in the neighborhood. Great, attentive service. The one problem I had was prior to arrival in Peru. I sent Aku a message through Booking.com to arrange the airport taxi, and when I got no reply after a day, I tried calling them on the phone number on their website, but it just rang and rang. I also sent an e-mail directly to the hotel, but no reply. I was quite concerned that the hotel might have permanently closed but was still automatically taking reservations somehow as happened to my husband once on Booking. I was really worried I would arrive in the dead of night in a city with crime problems, and have nowhere to go! However, after about 48 hours, I finally got a reply from them through Booking that I was all set. On my safe arrival, I asked the receptionist why no one had responded to my calls and e-mail through the hotel site, and she said she had no idea what went wrong. Anyway, all's well that ends well, and I can vouch that it is a legitimate operation and a very nice stay. Tons of great dining options in the area, especially Astrid y Gastón right around the corner.

SCAM! My boyfriend and I had fully paid online and when we arrived to the property we were asked to pay a ‘mandatory’ tip of 10% of our booking fee to the hotel. The lady at the desk kept changing what this meant, started off with service charge for WiFi and water??? - stated in our booking that WiFi was included? Then that the 10% was taxes? Later showed us a piece of paper showing that ‘all fees are paid’ but still insisted that we had to pay? (Make that make sense) Very rude and unprofessional service, Agoda cancelled our booking for free due to the fact that this is incorrect ( stated on there website that we do not pay 10% ) Avoid at all costs.

Room was nice but the WiFi was so slow we used our data instead. No blow dryer in room and while checking out you need to wait for someone to go review the room before you can leave.

This was a hotel that was tucked away in the commercial district that served it's purpose. There was a nice little park that you could walk around just a block away and some very nice restaurants around the corner. It's about a 30-40 minute Uber ride to the airport and a 15 minute Uber ride to Mira Flores.

Arrived on 2/21/26 for a 2 week stay. This rude reception host would not let me view the room before booking it so I left and went to another hotel. Good luck employing her, she sends your customers to other hotels. 🤡

AKU has always been my go-to hotel spot whenever I need a place to stay on short notice. Once you're in-country, it's always best to branch out & find a nice-sized, cheaper Airbnb option of course. That said, this hotel is usually priced at $40 - $50 per night, which is a massive bargain compared to U.S. hotel prices. Additionally, the staff is super helpful and willing to watch your bags for free if you arrive to early for check-in, enabling guests to roam the surrounding San Isidro area without having to luggage their heavy bags all over the place. The rooms themselves are spacious, the air conditioning is plenty powerful enough to cool the room in minutes, the mini fridge is adequate to store water and leftovers and beer, the bathroom shower is heaven on hot summer days, and the hotel site itself is centrally located near some great restaurants & cafes. Like I said earlier, it's the best place to stay on short notice and a pretty great bargain price (a similar hotel in the U.S. would run for maybe $250 per night).
