The hotel’s biggest asset is its location. It sits right on the main square next to the theatre — you really can’t get more central for exploring Maastricht. The building has charm, is well maintained, and with only a small number of rooms, it feels calm and intimate. The staff were excellent throughout: warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. My room was spacious, yet it didn’t feel especially cozy or distinctive. It’s hard to pinpoint why — it simply lacked that special touch or “wow factor” that makes a stay stand out. I also experienced a minor issue with the air conditioning, which made the room slightly colder than I would have liked. Not a major problem, but it did affect the overall comfort. While the hotel works well for a short stay in an unbeatable location, I found it somewhat expensive for what it offers. Breakfast is not included and is served à la carte in the brasserie downstairs; although convenient, it felt rather pricey for fairly simple options. Overall, a well-located hotel with excellent staff, but at this price point, I expected a bit more in terms of atmosphere and value for money.

Excellent location. Empathic and knowledgeable team. Boutique, nicely decorated. Good beds and AC. Functional bathroom wel equiped, missing the “rain shower” head. Courtesy in-room water bottles. Perfect a-la-carte breakfast. Parking covered, reserve in advance. Worth to have a stay !!

Very good rooms, especially given how small many European hotel rooms are. Location is hard to beat - right opposite the Vrijthof and therefore easy walking distance to even the restaurants on the eastern side of the river Meuse. Cafe downstairs opened at 8am which is comparable to other locations, though sometimes the kitchen wasn't open for dinner (plenty of dining options very nearby though, so no problem at all!) I was here for a convention at MECC - bus ride was easy to catch; services were frequent only a few hundred metres away. I needed to check out before 8am, so I simply settled the account the night before.

This hotel in the centre of the city, on the main square is an oasis in many ways. It is actually the best hotel in a major city we visited in years as it's people make it super special and go out of their way to make your stay the best possible. Small, fresh, clean, charming, quiet, super beds and bathroom, a great parking facility too and a breakfast that you should try ( and which beats any 5-star buffet ) for sure. Price / Quality is absolutely worthy of this great place. Thank you great people of Le Theatre Hotel , we'll be back for sure.

We stayed at Le Theatre Hotel last weekend (Fri–Sun) and had a great experience. It’s a cosy boutique hotel with a nice restaurant/brasserie in the front and very friendly staff. We stayed in the dependance (the part of the hotel in the back), which smelled like Rituals and was very clean with comfy a big boxspring in the room, plenty of room for your clothes and a nice shower. The location at the Vrijthof is ideal – everything is within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back!

For a family reunion we booked multiple rooms. Located just next to the Vrijthof we got modern spacious rooms, very friendly and competent reception personnel, and diligent cleaning service. With the rooms being in a back-building we had natural light and space, but were fully shielded from the noise on the Vrijthof party mile. I would choose this hotel anytime again. (Didn't eat in the hotel, so no opinion on that.)

Centrally located opposite the main square which has a huge underground car park with large spaces. |The hotel also has cafe and brasserie overlooking town square. The room was huge with bath tub screened off in the bedroom.|Everything had been thought of and enjoyed our stay albeit starting to look a little worn in some areas.
