Spring (March-April) is warm but wet, so autumn and early winter offer the most comfortable sightseeing weather.

Stay in Cotai for the resort strip, with The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, and Galaxy Hotel nearby. It suits those who want casinos, shows, and shopping. For historic charm, stay in the Macau Peninsula near Senado Square and the Ruins of Saint Paul's, with Mandarin Oriental Macau and Hotel Royal as options. Taipa offers a local feel with easy access to both, and the YOHO Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is there.

Start at the Ruins of Saint Paul's, the iconic 17th-century church facade, and nearby Monte Fort for city views. Walk to Senado Square, the historic heart with its Portuguese pavement. The Venetian Macao offers a vast casino and canals. Macau Tower provides a panoramic observation deck. A-Ma Temple, the city's oldest, is a peaceful contrast.

The full-day tours from Macau cover the city itself, including UNESCO sites, the tower, and Cotai highlights, rather than destinations outside. For a day trip beyond Macau, Hong Kong is the classic choice, with its harbor, markets, and islands. Zhuhai, just across the border, offers coastal walks and local parks. Both are easy to reach by ferry or bridge.

Two days cover the main sights: the Ruins of Saint Paul's, Senado Square, A-Ma Temple, Monte Fort, and Macau Tower. Add a third day for The Venetian Macao, Macau Fisherman's Wharf, and the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion. If you take a full-day tour, plan an extra day. Three days total feels comfortable.
