We had a wonderful stay at The Residences at Karen. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to relax before heading out on safari. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It felt like a quiet oasis away from the city while still being conveniently located. We really appreciated the excellent service and hospitality. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a comfortable and relaxing start or finish to your Kenya adventure.

The location is quiet and promotes group working for business trips. Shopping centers and service providers are within reach. Karen residences are highly secure and have restricted access for residences only. The atmosphere is full of natural surroundings and an appreciation of nature. Rooms are unique with some Victorian touch and clean

We enjoyed every part of our experience, from check-in to check-out.| |The concierge team was very helpful in ferrying us to the clubhouse and back to our room. It was a while ago that I left Kenya, and only now had the opportunity to return with my family to show it off to them. We spent our first night at the Residences and it set the whole holiday off to a great start, the two bedroom cottage was beautiful, spacious and well appointed - so much so, it made us want to stay longer!!

The Residences are part of the Karen Country Club. It is a peaceful setting full of trees. Typical for the area, there are security personnel and a locked gate for entry with all visitors needing to identify themselves and registered. I stayed in what they call a "cottage room." This is a regular hotel-type room with bed and en suite facilities (and shower had good hot water flow). There is also a private patio. Rooms are serviced daily, and housekeeping also came by in the evening to turn on interior & exterior lights, and pull the mosquito netting around the bed. My rate included breakfast, which is served buffet style and includes a variety of items, including custom omelets and coffees. The staff were always ready and willing to assist, including offering a ride to one's room via golf cart if further out on the property. (I didn't need this service as my building was close by, but it's there if needed.) Because I was there for work, I did not take advantage of all of the property's offerings, so cannot comment about that, but at check-in they did tell me about their spa and other services. Overall, I was very happy with my 4-night stay and would definitely stay again if back in the area.

Excellent 5 night stopover before going to the coast. |Wonderfully tranquil location with lots of wildlife and fauna helped make this a very relaxing stay. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was massive and immaculate with king size beds and top quality linen. |There were full kitchen facilities but we only used the kettle and there was always a big selection of tea and coffee etc available. |Breakfast was very nice with a good choice of English or continental food all well prepared. |All the staff were exactly as we’ve become used to in Kenya; friendly, helpful, and welcoming. |Special thanks to Mutahi who bought advance tickets for the Nairobi to Mombasa train for me as Kenya Railways don’t allow card payments, asante sane Mutahi. |Access to the bar and restaurant at Karen Golf & Country club was a bonus and we had some great food there again with great hospitality. |Looking forward to our next stay.
