Iconic hotel in the best location in Nerja, right on the Balcon de Europa. It has a beautiful secluded beach and we loved its El Nautico restaurant on the beach. The hotel staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, the rooms have lovely sea views and balconies. We chose the 'side sea view" rooms which overlook both the sea and the main Balcon thoroughfare ... perfect for people-watching before going to sleep. Excellent breakfast too.

Our first visit to both Nerja and the Balcony hotel. Booked as part of a 70th birthday celebration and we couldn’t have picked better. Nerja delightful and the hotel was exceptional. A truly traditional hotel regards professionalism, friendly, highly competent staff with lots of additional touches to enhance your stay. We had a full sea and balcon view. Ideal for people watching and listening to the sea lapping against the rocks was our lullaby to sleep. Regarding breakfast first time I have looked forward to going to breakfast, the choice and quality extremely good, love my morning cuppa and served in a teapot to the table. As we were only here for the week we didn’t avail ourselves of the hotel restaurants as wanted to try the vast array in Nerja. We did however enjoy sitting in the outdoor lounge area enjoying a drink and people watching. We had Nerja recommended over 30 years ago and not sure why it took us so long to visit but glad we did. Would highly recommend Hotel Balcon de Europa. Being honest the vibe is more a relaxing holiday with your evening meal being the focal point. Nerja doesn’t really do ‘pubs, sports bars or tribute acts. Nothing wrong with that at all but you need to be aware.

One of my new favourite places to visit. We’ve spent the last few years trying many Spanish resorts, especially along the Costa del Sol and this really is the Jewel in the crown. The hotel itself is extremely welcoming and the views are breathtaking. The pool we found a little disappointing but that lasted all of 30 seconds when you have the sea literally on the doorstep. The resort is classy and immaculate. With flowers in pots everywhere you look hanging from walls shops and restaurants. There’s a square a minute away from reception that has numerous restaurants and the resort goes off like a labyrinth with secret rooftop cocktail bars and restaurants for later in the evening. The breakfast at the hotel has a nice variety of food and drinks and is well cooked. Again the place is spotless thanks to the tireless work of the ever polite staff. We had room service every day and the views from our room were gorgeous. We have many places on our list to visit but we will most definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel right on the coast with stunning views. Our room was clean and spacious. We paid extra for a side sea view balcony which was definitely worth doing as it had outdoor table, chairs and sun loungers, not to mention the beautiful sea views! Great location right in the centre of Nerja within walking distance to everything. Great breakfast with lots of options. Friendly staff. The pool area is small and there aren’t many loungers due to the limited space, however probably only 1 out of the 7 days were they all full and struggled to get seated. There are also loungers that can be taken on the lovely little beach at the bottom of the hotel. All in all great holiday, would definitely visit again.

We stayed at Balcón de Europa Hotel for our wedding anniversary. Although our room didn’t have a view because the hotel was fully booked, the sea-view rooms looked amazing. Our room was comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. Thank you for the complimentary wine and Cava waiting for us in our room—it was a lovely surprise. The hotel has the best location and one of the most beautiful views in Nerja. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very disappointing stay if I could leave no stars it would be better suited. Day two my kindle was Stolen from my bag which was inside the wardrobe. When I reported it to the manager she said this never happens in this hotel and that I must have lost it somewhere else, started to call me a liar to my face and said it was not possible for this to happen. The manager said it was my fault as I didn't have my kindle in the safe, i informed her that all my personal belongings where in the safe & that i didn't think my kindle would be robbed from my bag which was in the wardrobe. Apparently there privacy policies only allows manager to watch two hours of footage and as it was taken outside of that the only other option was to go in person to the civil guard and make a report, once this is done then they can request footage for longer time. The way the manager handled the whole thing was very disappointing, not one bit of sympathy or sorry just very rude. Another couple of points: The fire emergency doors are locked until 10am everday, is this even legal? Im sure fire safety is not aware of this ? This is to ensure people don't go and put towels on the beds. It's a public beach so by the time 10am comes around most of the beach was full and not much room left. The beds provided for the beach are old not comfortable at all and keep collapsing, the bed provided for the patio area the cushions are very dirty meant to be white but most of them are yellow/brown in colour from dirt. The beach are itself is very small and limited, waves come right up to wall. The hotel is very dated and needs lots of work to bring it back up to standard. Unfortunately after our experience we wouldn't return & urge others to think twice about staying there & if you are Please keep your personal belongings Safe.

I stayed at this hotel 9 years ago loved it then and still do now on my return visit with my sister. We had a sea view room with balcony, it's great to see the beach and hear the waves each day, the room was standard size for two people, it was a little dark and wallpaper slightly 'frayed' but it was very clean. I know there are lighter rooms though so you Maybe lucky. ALL staff were brilliant, the receptionists, cleaners, waiters, bar staff all very friendly and provided very efficient service so given 5 stars as thoughly enjoyed our stay. The location is right on the balcon you can't get much better than that and restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk and there are plenty of them. The bus station is about 10 mins walk away from the hotel to.

This was my second visit to this hotel. The location is perfect. Nice room overlooking the sea. The el Nautico restaurant on the beach was excellent, food, staff and service- perfect. However, disappointed with other areas, There was a large crack in the sink in the bathroom - when reported to staff , we were thanked for letting them know, no apology or alternative offered. The Sunbeds on the terrace are so close together, no room for a table between guests. It was very uncomfortable. You are laying next to a stranger. A minor point, but would not expect this in a 4* hotel. Each guest is only left one tea bag in the room per day!!! I asked at reception for an extra t’bag and was told of the daily allocation. Total meanness. Most hotels with this rating provide a selection of teas and coffees as routine. We were given a bottle of cava and bottle of wine as returning guests, which was a nice touch. But overall felt we had a disappointing experience. Such a shame!
