The staff were pleasant and friendly, the room was a good size, and the location of the hotel good but there are three reasons I could not recommend this hotel:|1. My room was on the 5th floor and there is no lift. I was travelling light and am fit but it was no fun to have to climb stairs.|2. In a heatwave the hotel room was a furnace. The air con isn't effective at all and the room was boiling. A fan was supplied but this only moved hot air around. I didn't sleep the first two nights as it was so hot.|3. The lack of a fire escape from the top floors. I always check out the fire escape route in a hotel and was shocked that the (beautiful) wooden stairway is the only means of escape. My room had a window ledge that I could have tried to walk along onto a roof if there was a fire, but I would not have wanted to try this in an emergency. Had I not prepaid, I would have checked out and found somewhere else. This is a very small hotel, and although the room is quite big for Paris standards, I unfortunately won't be booking again for the reasons above.

We were stay for 5 nights in this hotel, the rooms were nice, and well shield. Lucky I got level 2 as they don’t have lift. The service are good, they accommodate what we need. Love their body wash and shampoo as it smells so good, very refreshing. Over all I’m quite happy with the hotel.

Room was a decent size by Parisian standards, bed was very comfortable, check-in and check-out were quick and painless, and the location was great, just around the corner from the metro! Oh and the AC worked a charm.

We had an amazing stay here. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, bathrooms also amazing, incredible view outside your window, the classic parisian vibe. The rooms were cleaned every day as well. Only cons would be there is a steep staircase, so bear that in mind with large suitcases, and also no fridge in the room. There was, however, a coffee machine, which I very much appreciated. Five minutes from the metro station, nice location, good neighbourhood, nothing sketchy nearby, also very close to Gare du Nord. Many boulangeries nearby.

A cute, cosy Parisian hotel in a quiet area away from the madness. We had a room on the sixth floor so it was very spacious. Complimentary breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choice. Service great. Very comfy bed. Loved the decor, very boutique type hotel. Would really recommend.

Clean rooms, NO elevator and has very narrow stairs. I had a very small room, breakfast was too simple, lobby+breakfast area totally less than 12sqm. Staff were there just for checking in/out. No refrigerator in room.

This hotel is very Parisian, which some may not find to their taste but we found it very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately we left an important item behind and when contacted, the hotel made sure to promptly find and secure the item until we could make arrangements for it's return. Thank you! If you are looking for somewhere comfortable, clean and safe to stay that is close to a metro station, Hotel Ernest is very reasonable.

Perfect cute Parisian hotel. The rooms are always tidied up after you leave every day, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious. The location is also perfect if you want to be in a quieter arrondissement but near the best cafes, restaurants and parks. Would stay here again and highly recommend.
