Just a few minutes from the historic centre and the main tourist attractions, but also from Lordelo do Ouro, in a picturesque fishermen's area, Vila Galé Porto Ribeira is a charming hotel resulting from the refurbishment of four buildings in the Cais das Pedras area, close to Alfândega do Porto and about 15 kilometres from Sá Carneiro airport.
With painting as its theme, this hotel in Porto stands right in front of the Douro, with a privileged view of the river. Completely integrated into the urban reality of Cais das Pedras, it takes advantage of its proximity to Porto's riverside area. The hotel's reception and lobby maintain a strong relationship with the river, allowing guests to enjoy the view. Some rooms will have the Douro as a backdrop.
In addition to its location, Vila Galé Porto Ribeira also has a distinctive concept. It's a paper-free hotel, which means it works practically without the use of paper, replaced by the use of mobile devices and the internet. For example, check-in is done via tablets, which also allow you to check prices, find out about promotions or fill in satisfaction questionnaires. In the rooms, the information that is usually available on paper is now displayed on TV, in a portal with exclusive content. All the menus are online and can be consulted via smartphone.
During your stay at this hotel in Porto, take the opportunity to stroll around the trendy, cool, hospitable and chaste city of Porto, Portugal's second largest. Famous for its colourful riverside area, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its narrow buildings tucked away by the river Douro. But it's also known for the modernity of Serralves and the Casa da Música. And for the liveliness of the Galerias de Paris or Rua Miguel Bombarda, home to multiple art galleries and shops with the latest fashion trends. In Foz, where the Douro meets the Atlantic, the seafront area is ideal for those who love the sun, sea and beach, extending all the way to Matosinhos, a paradise for lovers of fresh fish and seafood.
The tradition of Port wine, the Rabelo boats, the cellars in Gaia, on the other bank, the bustling streets of Santa Catarina, Cedofeita and Aliados are other attractions.
