What an amazing hotel! The rooms are magnificent and the location is breathtaking - right onto the Lake and in the heart of the town. Our room had a beautiful fire and a bed I wanted to take home! The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. I would say The Grille restaurant probably lets them down a little - I was expecting a more elevated restaurant with tablecloths and our food took a while. When it arrived it was very nice. Room for improvement but still 4* if I were eating separately.

This is certainly a nice hotel but for this high end price point, there is plenty of flaws. Mainly the constant racket as the property is far from sound proof and you are in the thick of Queenstown. At night you go to sleep (if you can) to the sound of partying and by day there is constant street performance, and lots of noise. To boot the heated floors did not work, the hot water ran out and the complimentary 5pm drinks turned out not to be so complimentary.

Eichardt’s is hard to miss — a stately, historic building situated perfectly in the center of downtown Queenstown facing the lake. Elegant, both inside and out, the hotel is small, intimate and comfortable. My wife and I spent three terrific days at Eichardt’s towards the conclusion of our journey through New Zealand and found it to be exceptional. The staff was easy to communicate with before our arrival, unbelievably responsive, and helped us arrange dinner reservations and an excursion. On arrival, we were shown to our suite, which consisted of a beautifully furnished separate living room, bedroom and large bathroom, with a complimentary minibar, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks. Our room did not have a lake view, but it was consequently very quiet, which I value, especially in a busy and noisy downtown like Queenstown. Guests are invited to enjoy a common living room 24/7 with a view of the plaza and lake, where pre-dinner cocktails and hors douvres are served daily, and delicious cookies are served fresh daily. The included cooked-to-order breakfast is excellent. Staff arranged for us to have dinner in the cozy bar, rather than in the restaurant, and the food was delicious. An off-site gym is made available to guests that want to work out. The staff is very welcoming, attentive, responsive and professional. I doubt there is any hotel comparable to Eichardt’s in all of Queenstown. It was very difficult to depart when the time came. If it is not already apparent, we loved our stay and recommend Eichardt’s highly.

Unbelievable. These people really care. A warm natural refreshing vibe. Thank you so much Eichardts...you made our Queenstown experience. Myself and 6 staff spend 4 days staying at Eichardts Residence in June. This is a separate building a few minutes walk from the main Hotel. The Residence is simply a wonderful place to ensconce yourself while also having access to the super friendly service and amenities of the Main Hotel. Complete with expansive lake & mountain views; gas fire place and top quality refreshments. There's private garage parking right at your unit and location is very handy to the town's central attractions. This was a most enjoyable team building event for us and honestly we felt we were treated like royalty - my staff & I will never forget the luxury and the warmth.

An unforgettable honeymoon stay at Eichardt’s Private Hotel. Our Heritage Suite was beautiful, and every detail—from champagne and canapés to an incredible dinner and full breakfast—was exceptional. Thank you to Sarah for organizing everything so perfectly and to Tebo for his warm service and great recommendations. Truly deserving of its 2025 Michelin Stay Award.

I had such a meaningful experience with the team at Eichardt’s Private Hotel. Even though I was not a guest, Sarah and Marcos at the front desk spent about an hour and a half helping me when I was in a really difficult situation. My English is not very good, and I was quite lost at the time, but they were so patient, kind, and genuinely caring. They really took the time to understand me and help me, which meant so much. They didn’t have to do that, but they chose to help anyway. This kind of hospitality really stayed with me. If this is how they treat someone who isn’t even staying there, I can only imagine how wonderful the experience must be for their guests. Thank you so much, Sarah and Marcos — I will never forget your kindness. I will definitely come back to Queenstown, and next time I will stay at your hotel. I would love to be welcomed by you again.

One of top 3 best hotels I have stayed, that's counting many Waldorf Astoria, Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, SLH, and many others. From reception, to concierge, to bar tender, service is impeccable. It made our anniversary trip so much memorable. And the location is impeccable, right in front of Lake Wakatipu in the middle of Queenstown downtown. If you're in Queenstown, be sure to book Eichardt's. You won't regret it.

Nestled in the heart of Queenstown, this exceptional establishment offers breathtaking views, impeccable service, and beautifully appointed rooms. Its prime location places you just a short stroll from the Gardens, a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, pubs, the sauna shed, and nearby parklands—making it the perfect base for both relaxation and exploration. 5 stars!!!
