The best time to visit Queenstown is from December to February, when days are warm and long, though rain is frequent. Plan 3 to 4 days. In 3 days, you can ride the Skyline gondola, take a Shotover Jet ride, walk the Queenstown Gardens, and hike the Queenstown Hill Walking Track. Add a fourth day for a full-day trip to Milford Sound or Mt Cook, which needs an extra day beyond the core sights.
