I enjoyed my stay here. The room was nice. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Good blackout curtains. In winter the lakeside rooms get direct sun which was nice. The shower is a bit comical in size. They seem to have addressed earlier feedback about the open bathrooms by adding large glazed sliding doors floor to ceiling in front of the bathroom area which I think was a good solution.

Breakfast - watch the wrought here - pre book breakdfast $39 roll into restaurant even as guest $50 each - had we known was $50 would have gone to local cafe - certainly not worth $50

We really enjoyed our stay here. Although it’s located in a smaller town setting, the hotel was centrally located and within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafés, and local attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. The service was excellent throughout our stay, with friendly and helpful staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and everything was well maintained. The only thing worth mentioning isn’t really the hotel’s fault, but rather something for visitors to be aware of if they’re staying in Rotorua. Due to the area’s geothermal activity, there can sometimes be a strong sulphur smell around town. Some days we barely noticed it, while on others it was quite noticeable. Again, this has nothing to do with the hotel itself, just something to keep in mind if you’re visiting the area. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Rotorua.

5/5 Stars — Absolutely wonderful service, they found our precious bear! 🧸🖤 My family and I stayed in Room 906 recently and accidentally left a very special black stuffed teddy bear behind — a souvenir we bought from Skyline Rotorua, and my wife absolutely loves it. We were back in Auckland before we realised, and I felt terrible. 😔 I emailed Pullman Rotorua and within no time at all, they replied — THEY FOUND HIM!!! 🎉 The team went above and beyond, checked thoroughly, confirmed it was safe, and happily arranged to courier him back to us in Auckland. Their kindness, speed, and genuine care was absolutely amazing. 🥹 This is what true hospitality is all about — not just a great stay, but caring about the little things that matter to guests. The room was lovely, the staff were so friendly, and their lost property service is outstanding. Thank you so much Pullman Rotorua — you’ve made our family so happy! We will definitely be back! 🫶 Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I visit Rotorua regularly but wouldn’t usually stay here due to the cost. My friend had Accor points which she generously put toward this trip and made it a lot more affordable. The check-in was seamless and very friendly and the secure bike storage was very easy to access. They have valet parking in a secure compound about 30 m from the hotel at a cost of $39 a night. I used this service on the first night because we arrived late and I didn’t take the bike off the rack. We just parked in the street on the other nights. The room was spacious for two friends – two king-size beds, a lovely big shower, a sofa and a chair. The toilet and shower area could be a little bit intimate for some – they have frosted glass but the door does not reach the ceiling so any odours and sounds from the toilet travel straight into the bedroom! Fortunately we are good friends and mature in age so this didn’t bother us at all. The vanity being pretty much in the hallway certainly save space and makes for a bigger more luxurious room but as I say – it’s not for everyone. Everything was in good working order and clean and fresh. The mini bar was well stocked with a few miniatures too and there was a range of teas and a coffee machine. Her Accor points gave us a discount at the bar and in the restaurant. We chose not to eat at the restaurant but did have drinks in the foyer area. It’s located a short walk from Eat Street and close to good cafes if you chose to breakfast out. On one evening we noticed somebody’s handbag sitting on a chair right by the front door so handed it in. Another afternoon there was unfortunately a dead cat in the outdoor bar area. We mentioned this to the frontline staff who dealt with the situations quickly and professionally. It struck me as being a very comfortable hotel and I would love to stay again!

We made a reservation of 4 rooms for our family but for us, it wasn’t a great start. When we arrived at the hotel, we had trouble finding a place to park, not even a slot at the pick-up/drop off area. We wanted to do valet parking, but because it was the Matariki weekend, there was no more slots for 3 of our cars. We found parking further away from the hotel, but too inconvenient for the family as there were many bags, there was no available luggage trolley also during that time. We were not happy about the cleanliness of some rooms. We noticed from two of our rooms used cotton buds and tissue in the small bin. One of the rooms had the shower floor already wet and stains still in the toilet bowl. The LED mirror light doesn’t work in one of our rooms. We also noticed the paper coasters for the glasses and mugs were old and dirty which is very unsanitary. But other than that, we enjoyed the rooms and the layout of some rooms are interesting and we had no problem with our sleep and comfort in the rooms. We were able to watch the Matariki drone show from our lake view window, which was the highlight of our stay. There were occasions when we called and asked for in-room amenities and milk and we were so impressed on how fast they answered the phone and how fast they delivered it to our room. However, there were times when amenities that we asked for were not delivered at all and we had to follow up and call again. Just for the milk bottles, I do feel like some bottles should be replaced with new ones as there were rust on the mouth of the bottle from the lids. We’ve stayed for 4 nights, and every time we asked housekeeping to make up our room, bed sheets and pillow cases are never refreshed even after we have left a written note daily on the bed. I have really bad skin allergies and the old bed sheets and pillow cases made my condition worse. We also noticed our used and dirty glasses were dried but there were smudges on them and were never polished, which seems like an old used towel was used to wipe it dry which is very unsanitary and made it look more dirtier. The food and beverage staff including the chefs were fantastic. They were very patient and helpful with us despite our family of 13 coming for lunch without making a reservation. Special mention to Lyka and Mandeep for taking care of our family each time we dined. They really made sure we were okay and made sure the kids, who have food allergies, are able to eat as well. The food was surprisingly great and flavours are very unique. My personal favourite order was the Harmony Pork Belly, which I ordered through room service and despite a busy night, chefs still managed to do great with the plating presentation; The best pork belly I ever had. As a family of 13, most of our kids are allergic to dairy. We asked for almond milk, which was delivered quickly. However, upon consumption of the almond milk, one of our kids felt very sick and vomiting, which we then came to the conclusion that the milk was spoiled. We’re hoping that this gets investigated so that the same situation can be prevented in the future for future guests. We were okay with our stay and needs were met, but based on our experience over-all, we’d rather look into other accomodation options if we’d come back to Rotorua.

We were greeted with a warm welcome from Meena upon our arrival. She is a fantastic host and really passionate about ensuring that guests have the best possible stay. We had just that and it made our anniversary vacation. It meant so much that the breakfast staff was always helpful and caring. The hotel is so clean and the amenities are wonderful. We definitely hope to come back!|14/04/2026

I was not familiar with the Pullman brand and wasn’t sure what to expect. However, after my initial interaction with the front desk staff, I was immediately impressed by their professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to help. From that point on, the experience only got better. The hotel was comfortable, well maintained, and offered excellent amenities. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I would definitely consider staying at a Pullman property again. Loved the shower! Location was close proximity of everything
