We were only here for one night, as part of a road trip. This is a small family owned hotel, but also stylish, well decorated very clean and very friendly. Our room was lovely, with a large, tiled balcony, at the front of the hotel with views of distant hills. The scent of jasmine wafted into the room from the gardens outside. Breakfast was very good (on a terrace at the back of the hotel) and we had a very good (and very reasonably priced) dinner in the hotel restaurant, with some delicious local wine. There is parking outside the hotel, but it is very busy and pot luck if you find a space (we were lucky). Its a 10-minute walk into the centre. We'd like to stay for longer next time!

Great place to dine when you want seafood instead of pasta. Tuna and bream dishes were quite good, especially for the price. Local wines in all sizes from bottle to glass. Service was excellent. Close to main entrance to town.

The room was on the small side but was clean and everything was in good condition. The floor was tiled and there was a balcony that gave views over the countryside...but not of San Gimignano itself because there are neighbouring buildings in the way. There is a fridge in the room, but it can't be used to put your own stuff in. The hotel is about a 10 to 15 minute uphill walk to the gates of San Gimignano. There is a small free parking lot opposite the hotel but you need to be lucky to get a space...we were! The breakfast area is on the lower ground floor down a spiral staircase, with inside and outside seating areas. Breakfast was continental style but very good. Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, a good experience. We would use this hotel again.

Hotel is in a nice area outside of San Gimignano, with a great view of the town. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. There is parking across the street from the hotel but it is usually full during the day, it is easier to park over in the lot called P1 and walk over. Room was very clean and comfortable.

While the hotel is not in the old city center it is only a 400 m walk away on sidewalks beside the road. It’s nice to also have a bar and restaurant for breakfast and dinner on premise. Last night I had the Tuscan bean soup. Very traditionally made with soft white beans, fresh spinach and bread and drizzled with olive oil. Flavors subtle the way it was meant to be in an average home. The baked chicken with saffron topped with asparagus was just right. Moist and tender inside with al dente asparagus. A fine end to a day on via Francigena.

Nice hotel with a restaurant and bar area. Good air conditioning in the room. The mattress is not very comfortable, it's worn on both sides and high in the middle. Very nice owners. You can not drink the water from the tap, well you can but it tastes bad. Beautiful location for photos and excellent dinner.

Where can I eat near Hotel Da Graziano?

The hotel's own restaurant, Da Graziano, serves Tuscan food, homemade pasta, grilled meat, and fish specialties, with a bar and snack bar on site. For a change of scene, an excellent restaurant is just 150 meters away along the road to the historic center. In the center, a 10-minute walk, you'll find Le Terrazze on Piazza della Cisterna and Osteria delle Catene on Via Mainardi, both serving local cuisine. The hotel's cafe is also handy for a quick bite or coffee.

What is the area around Hotel Da Graziano like?

The hotel sits on Via Giacomo Matteotti, about 400 meters from San Gimignano's historic center, so you are a short stroll from the medieval walls and the main gate, Porta San Giovanni, which is a 7-minute walk away. The immediate area is quiet and residential, with views of the town's towers from the hotel. Within a 10-minute walk you can reach the heart of the old town, including Piazza della Cisterna, the Palazzo Comunale, and the Torre Grossa. The hotel itself has a restaurant, bar, and café, so you can eat and drink on site. For exploring further, the hotel is well placed for day trips to Chianti, Siena, and Florence, though you will need transport for those. The area is calm and convenient, ideal for enjoying San Gimignano at a relaxed pace.

How do I get to Hotel Da Graziano from the airport or main train station?

From Florence Airport, take the tram to Santa Maria Novella station, then a regional train to Poggibonsi-San Gimignano station, and a Tiemme bus to San Gimignano. From Poggibonsi, the bus ride takes about 25 minutes. The hotel is a short walk from the public bus stop in San Gimignano. From Siena, take a train to Poggibonsi, then the same bus. A taxi or pre-booked transfer from the station is also a straightforward option.

What's there to do near Hotel Da Graziano in the evening?

In the evening, you can walk to the historic center in about 7 minutes to reach Porta San Giovanni, then continue to Piazza della Cisterna (10 min walk) and the towers. The hotel's own restaurant, Da Graziano, serves Tuscan food, homemade pasta, and pizza, and its bar and snack bar are right there for a relaxed drink. For a change of scene, the restaurant Bel Soggiorno on Via San Giovanni is a short stroll into town. The area is quiet, with the medieval walls and lit towers making a pleasant evening backdrop. You can also join a wine tasting or a Tuscan cooking class offered in the city for a longer evening out.

Is Hotel Da Graziano a good base for exploring San Gimignano?

Hotel Da Graziano is a great base for exploring San Gimignano. The historic center is a short walk away, with Porta San Giovanni just 7 minutes on foot and Piazza della Cisterna 10 minutes away. Torre e Casa Campatelli and Parco della Rocca are both 9 minutes from the hotel, while Palazzo Comunale and the Torre Grossa are a 10-minute walk. Fonti Medievali is 13 minutes away. For day trips, the hotel is well placed for visiting Chianti, Siena, Florence, and other Tuscan towns, though those require a car or bus. The hotel's own restaurant and bar make it easy to relax after exploring.
