We recently dined at The Pool Grill at Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, and while the setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall dining experience was quite disappointing.please have a look the kitchen photo closely by zooming in you can clearly see burgers was cooked on the pan seating on the grill🤔🤔🤔 The restaurant itself is located in a lovely part of the resort, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful waterways, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were also friendly and attentive, and we appreciated the buggy service arranged to take us back to reception after dinner. However, the main issue was with the food—specifically the burger we ordered. Given the restaurant’s name, “The Pool Grill,” we expected a proper grilled experience with charcoal or open-flame cooking, delivering that classic smoky barbecue flavour. To our surprise, while taking photos near the open kitchen, we could clearly see that the burger was being cooked in a frying pan placed on top of the grill, rather than directly on it. This completely defeats the purpose of a grill concept. As a result, the burger lacked any of the expected grilled texture or smoky taste and instead resembled a basic pan-fried patty. For a five-star resort, this feels like a mismatch between concept and execution. If a restaurant is branded as a “grill,” guests naturally expect authentic grilling techniques, not pan-cooked food on top of a grill. Overall, while the ambiance and service were pleasant, the food did not meet expectations, and the experience left us quite disappointed.

We had an amazing stay at Grand Hyatt in Sanya on Hainan with our family. We celebrated the New Year there🥂🎄🍾 the hospitality was outstanding. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The staff was incredibly professional and responded quickly to any request, always ready to help. The room was spacious with high ceilings, and the beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, and we truly enjoyed the special experience of watching the sunrise and having Breakfast in the SKY. It made our stay truly unforgettable! ❤️❤️❤️
